Hi. You can download the driver from Dell website. I strongly recommend that even there will be more recent versions out there, stay with the versions released by Dell, Dell before releasing a driver tests it with the systems to ensure full compatibility and zero-problems with other devices:

Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card driver

Also for future needs, it's advisable that you go to the following web page:

Dell Drivers & Downloads

And enter the service tag of your Dell computer, so that you could get drivers specific to your system.

hope it helps

Dell vostro service tag number 17157840913 is not accessible in the dell support services, i want to download WLAN driver to configure wireless in my laptop. Help please!

frankriessen,
That number looks to be the Express Service Code and not the system service tag. You can click the link below to download the correct WLAN driver for your system. The system shipped with one of the below card options on your system.
Internal support for PCI-e Mini-Card WLAN: Dell WLAN 5100 or Broadcom WLAN1397_1510
Bluetooth 355 V2.0 and Bluetooth 360 V2.1 wireless technology (Optional)
Vostro 1015 Driver

I cannot get my wireless Lan mini card to connect to a wireless network, the network is detected but will not connect

Go to the Device Manager. Double click on the Dell Wireless (1390/1490/1500) Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card device. The properties dialog should appear. Click on the Advanced tab. Look for Antenna Diversity under the Property. Change the value to Aux. Hit ok. Then try and reconnect to your WIFI connection. By changing this you should see your access point and be able to connect to it.

I have limited connectivity. Both my Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller and Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card drivers are up to date.

make sure the access point or router is on DHCP then connect the computer, but if its on dynamic IP... them enter an IP in range of what you have on your AP/Router

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.

Internal wireless card has been disabled. How do you fix this?

Hi car7924,

First, make sure that the wireless switch on the left side of the computer is turned on (this should make the WIFI light go on -- beneath the lower right corner of the screen). If it doesn't work, then try going to Start Menu > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections.

You should see the Wireless Network Adapter in the window that comes up. If you don't, you need to download the driver for that adapter. The most common adapter in the D820 is the Dell 1390 WLAN MiniCard, and the driver for it can be downloaded at the following web address:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/Others/Dell-Latitude-D530-Wireless-1390-WLAN-MiniCard-Driver-A17.shtml

If, on the other hand, you do see the Wireless Network Adapter, but it says "Disabled" underneath the name, then right-click it and select "Enable." This should make it work.

I hope this helps - please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Kind regards,
H2H
