Whenever i put in a blueray movie, DVD or PS3 game they wont load up. My hard drive works, meaning that I can still browse my hard drive and the things I have saved but when I try to insert a disc it wont load. What does this mean? Is my laser damaged? And how would I address this issue? And do you have any idea of the cost and how long it would take to get my system back if I were to send it away?
It needs a new
laser because the old one is "burnt out". It's a really common problem
with them.
You could send it to Sony, but they take a long time to repair it and charge $150 USD plus shipping and handling.
You could also replace the laser yourself.
I buy mine at http://parts.consolerepairguy.com they run about $75 each.
I run a repair business and that place has best prices aside from Hong Kong which I don't trust.
