Sounds like a bad internal hard drive in the PS3, as a hard drive is used for the OS and data storage after it boots up. Or the unit crashed and could be recovered to factory defaults or something but without system storage, the unit is a boat anchor.

Unless you are technically able and willing, I would not recommend trying to replace the drive yourself - it is possible to do but does require a certain skill level and a lot of detailed and careful work; it might be cost-effective to have the unit repaired but you'd have to ask shops and price it out, or else think about getting a refurbed unit for way less than the price of repairing this one. Sorry not to be any more helpful but that kind of failure is very often not for the non-technical to repair.

Probably the hard drive,try to remove it and install it again.If this also wont work maybe you need a new one.

Send it back of do a hard reset

The hard drive will only work on the ps3 if its FAT32

This is usually the result of the hard drive in your PS3 either:

* Has come loose or not making connection.
* Has crashed and will have to be replaced.

Unfortunepately you need a new hard drive the one you got might have gotten misplaced in the factory and got put in a system that isn't compatible with your version of the ps3
