Sound but picture is barely visible on Sylvania flat screen

Not knowing brand and model number most of these sets have a 4-5 year life and parts for a set of this age may not be available.

The risk in repairing a set this old is it may just fail again and again.

If the reset is not work the problem could be the inverter board found inside the TV..

When you open the back cover of your TV by unscrewing it..After that the inverter board become visible.

This is the sample picture of inverter board:




After you replace that board your TV back to normal operation..

You need to replace the Lamp this set has 2 Lamp #numbers
Look at the serial# on back of TV for either a J or Z in it that will tell you which Lamp you will need to order

That's a very old model to be only 1 year old?

I have a 3 year old TV with the same problem as shema_ross.

That means that there was a problem either with a LCD display or with ribbon cable.

Now:"I tried charging the battery and removing it from the camera, now the camera only does a bit sound when switching on but nothing else, the lens does not even come out."

That means that the ribbon cable had probably shorted, now the camera may be furtherly damaged.

The camera must be disassembled to access the LCD and fix the problem.
The repair must be done by an experienced technician, as to access the LCD you need to remove both covers.

This problem sounds like a short inside the picture tube itself unless a driver transistor failed that drives the red gun in the CRT. You may have to take it to an authorized repair facility if the picture tube is still in warranty.
