My 1 GB ilo player's power button is pushed in but it still works when plugged into the computer. I was wondering if the music player would work if it is plugged into a radio with a radio cord. If so, this would save a lot of money for me. (All I need is for it to work in the car, its not an issue if it does not work outside the car. The players battery life is based on a single AAA battery.)

The tiny power switch soldered on the circuit board has broken loose, my daughter's did the same exact thing. The only other way to activate it is with the usb-computer connection. Return it for a new one if you can

Ilo mp3 2g

What you have to do is plug in your mp3 player to your computer. Go to my computer and find the ilo icon or where it says ilo. Right click on the ilo tab and select the format option. A seperate window will appear and at the bottom click start ** THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR SONGS, BUT IT DOES WORK ** after it is done formatting, it should work just fine

Ilo mp3 player

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.

Ilo won't turn on.....

Remove the battery. While this isn't necessary to get the player into recovery mode, it insures the unit will not power on before the cable is inserted. On the iLO, hold the "Power" button down while inserting the USB cable. Continue holding the power button down for 5 seconds more after the cable is inserted. The backlight on the iLO will remain off during this time, making the screen appear to be blank. An hourglass should appear on you computer and Windows should say, "Found new Hardware 'SMTP3500". Launch the Rave-MP firmware update program (Start>Programs>Rave-MP> Firmware) Click "Get Firmware". Select "iLO256" and let it download new firmware. Click "OK" when prompted. Click "Update Firmware". It will now search for the iLO. This may take a while depending on how corrupted the firmware is, so be patient. After it has found the iLO, it will say, "A device has been detected in recovery mode and is being initialized. Please wait." The iLO should come back to life and start showing it's glorious "USB Connected" screen. The "Firmware Update" window should appear. Select "Format Data Area" to rid the player of corrupted firmware data. And click "Start". It can take anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes to re-flash the iLO and the program might appear to have locked up, but it hasn't. So don't close the program or disconnect the iLO! Why are you still reading this? Great, did something happen? Well, If the program fails to find the iLO and gives you an error like, "Device Timeout" or something similar, you need to reinstall the iLO drivers. This can be done by inserting the iLO cable into a USB port it has never been plugged into before. Or you can reinstall the drivers by reinstalling the Rave-MP program. (Remove it, restart the computer, and then install it again). Plugging it into a new USB port is the fastest and easiest option though. Adding SD card to my ILO

What, you actually hotwired a flash card into the Ilo? Impressive. Or are you trying to get the Ilo to play music from an SD card, when you have both plugged into the computer? If you're talking about the first, then I'd say you did a good job at NOT destroying your Ilo. If its the second, then unplug your Ilo, put your headphones into the headphones jack in the computer, and play the music from your computer.
