Re: removing write protection of USB pen drive
In your pen drive, check if you have a "hold" switch or button. That may cause this write protection. So press that switch which may solve the problem. Can I know the model number of your pen drive?

Pen drive? A USB drive? Have you formatted the drive? Do you have Admin. rights? Remove the USB drive , reboot the computer, insert the usb device, does the computer ID the device and apply a driver? Do you get a popup? Does it show in Computer? What are you trying to copy to the drive?
Hi Sir. Please look carefully at your usb pen-drive to see if there is a small switch on there somewhere that is used to lock and unlock the drive. perhaps you may have accidentally put it in the lock position. If there is a laser pointer on the drive then using the laser pointer may have caused you to accidentally switch to the write protected mode. most drives have a lock/unlock switch on the pen-drive itself...unless it has a program installed on the drive that has encrypted and locked the drives read/write ability. Please let me know if you have success. Thank you!
Far too often these little things have an almost invisible read/write protect button on them. Look carefully, over the entire surface of the USB Flash Drive. You might have this switch turned to Write Protect, which means there is nothing you can do, until you turn it the other way, and allow the device to be written to.
