If the washer won't spin, most like problem is the belt underneath that connects the motor to the washer drum is broken. To check you will have to lift the washer backwards so you can see underneath it.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Sears 700 series top load washer, model 110.27711600

no that is a shipping pin when they pulled the strap those pins fall into those little cups instead of onto the floor. so it does not spin. does it agetate? if the answer is yes you probaly have a good drive coupler. Possible suspects would be a bad transmission if it is stuck in nuetral drain, clutch if you can push start the basket in spin cycle you have a bad clutch, bad drive block you need to take the agetator off and check to see if the drive block is not raised from the basket drive basket drive has 2 ears that fit into the drive block.

ON SPIN CYCLE AGITATOR MAKE A LOUD BANGING SOUND

So while you are holding the agetator is it ripping your hands? or is the agetator just sitting there? If the agetator is just sitting there you probably have bad agetator dogs. I would remove the fabric softner or cap whichever you have. under the cap you will see grooves in the agetator down low. When you manually turn the agetator you should see 4 tear drops that grab the grooves if you do not see this you have bad dogs. Very simple. This usually is the cause for the grinding noise that you are hearing. Please let me know if this works for you //eg
