Scanner issues when i connect my power chord the power light turns on for about 3 seconds and then turns off. Next, the printer starts to configure itself, and the scanning bar begins to bang up against the right wall of the printer. eventually this stops, but no matter how many times i press the power button, the printer won't turn on. The display still reads "dell aio 922" and the scanning bar stays lit, but i cannot copy or print anything

The Scanner now has a pink line down the page - when I save a scan it has the pink line! Can this be fixed easily or should I buy a new All-In-One? I really like the HP 7410 -great until now.

Hi,

I always advice my customer to follow below steps if a vertical line are encountered while scan or copy.

SOLUTION ONE: Reset the All-in-One

If there is static interference, or loose connections with the product, this can result in bands or lines in

the copy, fax, or scan output. To resolve this issue, check the product connections and reset the product.

1.Make sure the product is powered on, and then disconnect the power cord from the product.
2.Disconnect the USB cable from the product, and then disconnect it from the computer.

4.Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, and then reconnect it to the wall outlet.
5.Reconnect the power cord to the product.
6.Press the Power button to turn on the product.
If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the issue persists, see the next reset.

SOLUTION TWO: Clean the product and make a blank copy

If the scanner glass or the white underside of the lid has debris, this can slow performance and affect copy

and scan quality. To resolve this issue, clean the All-in-One.
Before you begin, gather the following materials:

*Several clean, soft, lint-free cloths
*Mild glass cleaner

1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn off the product, and disconnect the power cord from the product.
2. Open the scanner lid.
3. Spray a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with mild glass cleaner.
CAUTION:Do not spray the glass cleaner directly on the glass to avoid damaging the scanner.
4. Wipe the scanner glass and the white underside of the scanner lid with the dampened cloth.
5. Dry the scanner glass thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth, or chamois to prevent spotting, and then dry the white underside of the scanner lid.
NOTE:Do not use tissues that can leave fiber residue.
6. Clean and thoroughly dry the small strip of glass to the left of the scanner glass, and then clean and dry the white plastic strip on the left underside of the scanner lid.
7. Close the scanner lid.
8. Reconnect the power cord to the product, and press the Power button to turn on the product.
