SOURCE: Nothing works on my Pioneer P7500dvd after getting a new ribbon??

I recently opened my unit up and experienced the same problem. What I found is when I took it apart, I had to remove the gray portion that holds the removanle faceplate. It has two tiny screws, one on each side. When I removed them the piece flips up and comes loose except for the ribbon which clips in place with a tiny plastic clip that WILL BREAK if you remove it. You have to basically break it to get it apart. The ribbon is covered by a small silver plate that has two screws. Since the clip breaks, when you put it back together, you have to slip the ribbon in place and find some way to secure it. What I did, is i placed the ribbon back in place and placed a dab of silicon on the broken piece and placed it back in its original position. I then placed a piece of black electrical tape over it to hold it in place. The ribbon needs to be held down tight to work so I took about two inches of black electrical tape and folded it a few times, placed it on top of the broken ribbon clip and placed the metal cover on top of it. Basically when you put the srews back in placed it squeezes down on the tape, clip, silicon and ribbon holding it in place. I turned it back on and it worked. Hope this helps. Dan(Macgyver)

STUCK ON BLACK SCREEN SAYING OBJECTS MAY BE IN REVERSE TRYED RESETTING STILL THE SAME UNHOOKED VIOLET WIRE STILL THE SAME

I have a Pioneer AVH-P4900, I bought the video bypass for mine, once I did that I had the same problem. I tried pressing buttons, and the V.Adj button returned the screen back to my normal screen playing my disc. It might happen again, but I think it's it's way of a "screensaver ". Hope this helps to patch this up for ya.

The screen is so dark i can barely make out what is on the screen. i hook up a monitor and that looks fine. my stereo is a pioneer avh-p7480dvd

First I would try pressing the DISPLAY button on your remote which controls the display and if that is not it, it's probably the flex cable. These cables go bad after a while and needs to be replaced. you may also contact Pioneer to see if there is a recall on this part as they may pay for it, otherwise you can purchase it on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-AVH-P7480DVD-AVX-P7300DVD-FLEX-RIBBON-CABLE-/120529728036

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD video goes black after 2 or 3 seconds. I can touch screen and it comes back but for only a couple of seconds. Audio is fine

You pressed the Disp. Off button on the bottom left corner. If you press it again it will stop turning the display off.

There is a guy on ebay who does that repair service on the Pioneer AVH models. I thinks its $100 and change for the service plus shipping costs. Not a bad deal, beats going Pioneer!
