When I place a photograph onto the screen, it always appears too large and quite fuzzy. It chops heads off at the top! Help!

I have the same problem too and I tried changing the resolution, but the screen says the sync is out of range. What do I do next?

Hi...there,
You need to reset your resolution. Right click on your mouse, go to properties. Then click on settings, on your L/H side are your screen resolution: moved the bar to more in the middle or to your desired settings...

Is it windows 7 or 8? Internet Explorer modern (tablet mode), or desktop mode (the one that opens while on your desktop)? Internet Explorer 10 or 11? Ia the text very large or small? Does it only happen in Internet Explorer, or does text appear blurry in other apps? Are those apps desktop mode or tablet mode apps?

Cant hardly read the screen the printing is so small and a little fuzzy

Change the display font size. In Win 7, right click on the desktop and choose Screen Resolution then choose make Text and other items larger or smaller. This brings up Windows Appearance and Personalization > Display (small, medium, large buttons). With Win7, you can also turn on Clear Type for LCD displays.

The earlier versions of Windows have the same display font option but it may be a subset of the Accessibility Control Panel. Macs probably have a similar control in the OS.

I hope this helps.

I have a ViewSonic flat screen monitor. The images on the sign in page are fuzzy and unreadable. I have Windows XP.

I would check the connections between the monitor and computer. Also the refresh rate and/or resolution might be wrong. To correct this, you will need to boot your computer in safe mode. (restart computer, right after the computer's logo appears rapidly press the F8 key until a black and white menu appears. Select SAFE MODE) once the computer boots to safe mode, the sign on screen will appear very large. Sign onto the computer once at the desktop, RIGHT CLICK the background and select PROPERTIES. Once the display properties window appears click on the last tab SETTINGS. Here is where you can adjust the resolution. Take the screen resoltution to a low setting. You can always change this later when you boot your computer normally to get a better view. Next click on the ADVANCED button click on the MONITOR tab, usually flat screens operate at a lower refresh rate then CRT monitors. I usually keep my refresh rate to 60 Hertz. Next click on the GENERAL tab. This will allow you to change the DPI setting. I usually keep mine set to 96 DPI. You may want to experiment with this as monitors vary. Once done, click on the APPLY button then OK. Restart the comptuer and see if this has improved your display. You may need to do this several times trying different settings until you get a clear display. If you've exhausted all these steps, try a different monitor or changing the cable. If that fixes the problem then you know you have a bad monitor or cable. Good luck, let me know how it turns out.

Our Dell Inspiron Screen 6400 has just started flipping over onto one side, so we pressed ctrl/alt/ and the down-arrow. But now the writing on the screen is slightly fuzzy or out of focus. Is it related?...

Check the image resolution.
An LCD has 1 native resolution, and this is the one setting it will truly be clear on.

If it's a 17" normally this is 1280x1024, buth check it's specs.

Set video mode to this, and see if it helps, if not, it could be the cable, or interference on the cable.

Try moving the video cable AWAY from power leads, if no luck, try a different monitor cable.
