Hi,
The battery meter should display in the tray by default if a battery is detected in the system.
Let's try setting this manually. Please right click on the Sytem Tray to surface the context menu. Choose "Properties" off of the context menu--this will bring up the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" dialog box. Select the "Notification Area" tab. At the bottom of the tab, is the "Systems Icons" area. There is a check box for "Power". Please "check" the checkbox and click the Apply or OK button. The Battery Meter should show up in the tray.
Let me know if this works. Also, it would be helpful if you could send me the manufacturer and model of your notebook.
Thanks,
SF

Sounds like your screen is taking a poop! Either that or the ribbon that goes to the screen is wearing out. Take to local pc repair shop.

If you are not using it, uninstall Dell Control Point Connection manager, then the Window Wireless configuration will function normally
Pressing Ctrl + F11 should resolved the issue if the restore partition still exists in functioning condition on the hard drive. Seeing as most D600s are off-lease machines on their fourth or fifth year by now, I'd say the chances of the aforementioned partition existing, not to mention working, are slim. You will probably have to re-install XP on your own. If you already have an XP installation. Once you installed XP on your computer, all drivers are available at Dell's website.
Best of luck.
