SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 1525, my battery icon went missing

Hi,
The battery meter should display in the tray by default if a battery is detected in the system.
Let's try setting this manually. Please right click on the Sytem Tray to surface the context menu. Choose "Properties" off of the context menu--this will bring up the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" dialog box. Select the "Notification Area" tab. At the bottom of the tab, is the "Systems Icons" area. There is a check box for "Power". Please "check" the checkbox and click the Apply or OK button. The Battery Meter should show up in the tray.
Let me know if this works. Also, it would be helpful if you could send me the manufacturer and model of your notebook.
Thanks,
SF

SOURCE: Latitude - E5500 Laptop Computer ( 2.26GHz, MB, GB) (blcwdhp_3) PC Notebook: how do i restart to factoru condition my dell e550...

Pressing Ctrl + F11 should resolved the issue if the restore partition still exists in functioning condition on the hard drive. Seeing as most D600s are off-lease machines on their fourth or fifth year by now, I'd say the chances of the aforementioned partition existing, not to mention working, are slim. You will probably have to re-install XP on your own. If you already have an XP installation. Once you installed XP on your computer, all drivers are available at Dell's website.

Best of luck.

WIFI wont connect

A bit more information would be help full. Here is a step by step from Dell.
1. Locate the wireless connection icon in the taskbar of the laptop, bottom right by the clock.
2. Right-click on the icon.
3. Click "View Available Wireless Networks"
4. Double-click on the network that belongs to you.
5. Allow the network to load. Once it has finished loading, the word "Connected" should appear to the right of the network .
6. Open a Web browser.

Is there a button on the laptop somewhere to turn on/off network card.

My Dell Latitude E5500 speaker is too low, how to increase volume?

If you have volume control in the system tray (bottom right corner), double-click it. In Windows XP you will see all the sound controls. Increase all to the maximum level (except microphone).
Use the buttons close to the screen to increase the volume.
There is a volume control in the player you are using. Increase it to the maximum.
If it doesn't help, please let us know.

I can't find the wireless switch on dell latitude e5500

Go to the start menu and click where it says run or type in right above the start button in the white field and type ncpa.cpl then push enter. Where it says wireless network, right click on it then click enable. If needed, right click again and view wireless networks or Connect/Disconnect then connect to the wireless network. Also there could be a tiny switch on the right side of the computer where you turn on the computer, there might be a button to click to turn it blue. Hope this helps

Dell e5500 i can't turn on the wifi

Make sure the wireless switch is on. It will be either a sliding switch on the left or right side edge of the computer, a key combination or single key, look for the wireless icon wi-fi%20icon%20e_series.jpg.

For example on the Inspiron 1545 and Studio 1555, press the <F2> key to alternatively turn off or turn on the wireless function on the computer.

You can even try to press and hold the <FN> key and hit <F2> for one time that will turn on your wifi/ if you hit <F2>key again it will turn off the wifi. It acts like a toggle switch.
