If you have volume control in the system tray (bottom right corner), double-click it. In Windows XP you will see all the sound controls. Increase all to the maximum level (except microphone).
Use the buttons close to the screen to increase the volume.
There is a volume control in the player you are using. Increase it to the maximum.

I have no sound on my Dell latitude E5500 windows xp. It was working properly. I go to volume control and there is a message " No active mixer devices available" What should I do?
