Please remember this part is doing a service to you. its basically saying my motor is getting so hot picking up this dirt that i better make him rest before he burns up. in most cases you will find that you either have a clog or your filters need to be replaced. a good tune up service is probably in order. i have seen a few times however that sometimes they will shut off without any of the above problems. then you will have a faulty thermostat. hope this helped some and good luck.

I was vacuuming with my Hoover Windtunnel Rewind t-series, and the vacuum simply stopped working. I plugged it into other outlets all around the house but no power suddenly.

Wait 30 minutes and try again, there is a thermal overload switch that resets itself.
Clean all three filters and see what happens.

Hoover windtunnel self-propelled - will not turn on

You probably need the switch replaced. It's fairly simple to do youself, and it is a known problem with these vacuums.
You can order the switch from hoover for about $10

Hoover windtunnel v2 hair keeps getting caught up in the brush pieces causing vaccumme to overheat and plastic parts to melt

This is a common problem in homes with long hair or pets. A vacuum has the nastiest job in the house. The hair will travel to ends of the brush continually and cause problems on any vac however better quality vacs have thread stops around their bearings or at the end of WOODEN brush roll. You can clean some of the brush with scissors or a utility knife from the outside of the nozzle housing but you must inspect the head continually or you will end up with a ruined brush roll. THAT OR A HAIRCUT FOR THE OFFENDERS.
This is only part of the fix, thew brush will need to be removed thoroughly cleaned from time to time. A wire brush also helps to remove it when you cut through it.

Hoover WindTunnel Canister: Roller brush motor not turning

These motors have a fuse incorporated in the field winding and it sounds like that blew. These motors sometimes overheat at the front bearing and the bearing will melt into the plastic housing. This will cause the fuse to blow. It sounds like that's your problem. You can remove the motor by removing the three screws on the bottom of the powerhead and then check the front bearing for any bubbling or blistering in the plastic housing. The shaft of the motor should turn easily.
