You may have two settings to change; make sure that your laptop has its external VGA turned on. You may have to access the CMOS setup or choose an external monitor from the Control Panel - Display settings.
On your TV, you will have to change the input selection which is probably set for 'Cable' now. You didn't mention the model number of your set so can't check which verbiage is available through your menu. Once you have found the input selection section of the TV menu, if VGA is not specifically mentioned, just have material set up on your laptop (movie or similar) and step through the possibilities - slowly - so your set has a chance to see if signal is available from the selected input.
If it is still telling you 'no signal,' your laptop may still not be outputting anything to the TV.

Baird 47inch LCD TV PERFECT PICTURE BUT NO picture

First thing to check is mute, if its not muted then you have an issue with the main board or power board..without the model I don't know if the voltage for the sound circuitry comes from the power supply or if its processed in the main board.

Ive recently bought a second hand Sony Cineza VPL-HS2 projector and it doesnt have an AVG input in the back. It does have a S-Video input, a 'video' input and a couple of audio inputs,

I think you mean "VGA" not "AVG". You can use the VGA to S-Video adapter to connect the laptop to the projector however you may get better results using a VGA to A/V (component) adapter to feed video into the RCA video input connector.

User maual for a 47inch lcd baird

What are you trying to wire up exactly ?
If your optical. Port glows red, its an out put.if not then its an input.
Your surround system should be the last thing on your curcit.
Everything in to the TV, ie DVD etc, then run a fibre optic cable form the TV to the surround.

I turn on tv. There is sound but no video.

hi, if you have a device plugged into the telly that gives you the picture such as sky or cable then the best thing to do is disconnect this device from the back of your telly then switch the telly and this device off at the mains, then re-fit all the cables making sure they are connected properly then switch it all on.

now check if you have sound also make sure the tells is on the correct input for that decice and also make sure the mute button has not been pressed on the telly remote or on the remote of the device you use to watch telly, if after doing all that it still dont work then the chances are something has blown on the amp in the telly.

make sure you double check all the leads going into the telly to rule out a faulty lead causing you the problems

Why is there no picture on my xbox only sound

hi, you can try unplugging the lead from your telly and also from your xbox then with your xbox switched off at mains plug them back in make sure you push it into the telly far enough as this could be your problem also make sure its fitted in xbox properly the problem is usually the telly end so make sure this is fitted correctly, then switch it on and see if it is now working, if it isnt then the chances are your going to need a new lead, if the problem was with the xbox then you would have no sound as well so the problem points towards the lead being at fault.

Also make sure the telly is on the correct channel

Same Problem

Hi the problem you are having will be with the starter located on the circuit board where the power lead attatches to the telly thiss will have a thick black wire coming from this to the screen.

To replace this you will need special equipment and i wouldnt advise doing it yourself as the telly is still live up to 2 days after it is unplugged from the mains.
As for the cost of the repair you will find it cheaper to buy a new telly as when the things go wrong like yours you tend to solve one problem after another so it would be best to replace the whole telly its just not worth repairing yourself.
If you wanted it repairing then goto a small repair shop as they are glad of the work and tend to charge alot less than bigger shops.

Please dont attempt this yourself unless you have been trained to read schematices.

Its not worth electricuting yourself by removing the case as their is no easy fix to this problem this is a common problem with all tellys of your type this happens to them all after a certain time so its not just your telly ive had it happen 3 times.

The first time i done the repair as i have been trained to do this type of work but i found i just kept getting problem after problem so the next 2 tellys that went wrong i just scrapped it really is not worth doing.

Sorry i couldnt give you good news hopefully you wont give me a bad rating but if their was a way to solve your problem i would advise you on it but their is no easy fix. sorry

Wiring diagram for sony kdl-23s2010

i can tell you the best way but i need to know what your using ie scart leads things like that also tell me how many scart sockets in telly and in dvd and sky and vcr after you give me this info il tell you what needs pluggging into what
basing it on your telly has 2 scart if not let me know ok
1. dvd to telly via scart lead
2. then sky to vcr via scart doing it this way allows you to record sky using av channel on vcr
3. vcr to telly via scart lead
then if you want your video to record normal telly channels you need to use normal arial leads in this order
1. from arial to vcr then from vcr to telly doin this allows you to record the channels you get through the arial like 1 2 3 4 5 also this way when you choose 1 or 2 or 3 on video it will record that channel allowing you to watch whatever on sky whilst recording normal telly
If your telly only has one scart socket in the back then you need to buy a scart adaptor that converts one scart socket into 2 or even
let me know if you understand what im telling you or if you need further help ok just let me know im going out for 2 hours but will check your reply then so hope you dont mind waiting if you need help ok
