My Mac 10.3.9 do not find the HP scanjet 3970. I lost the drives wen having a crash I had to install a new hard disc. I serch for free downloads of driver but could not find for Mac.

If you don't want to purchase a new device , the only solution is a workaround :
solution one: If you have the W XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of W XP on your machine from http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ solution two : If you still have the install disc , you can also partition your primary and install W XP on the new partition from http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html. Back up your data first. solution three: I have Win 7 on my primary and installed Win XP on my secundary . Works like a charm .

After you have UnScrewed and Opened Up the Scanner. On the Circuit Board (Green Board with Electronic Components) just where you Plug in the Power Pin there is a Small Glass Tube Looking Component. You need to replace that with a 1.2mA Fuse.
