How do you use the scanner on the Lexmark 4690 3-in-one? I have never used the scanner on my printer. How do you do it?

We have no manuals for anything, but if you will put this information on the search engine of your computer, a list of dealers, and maybe even the factory, should pop up to help you.

I would open up the scanner and check to see if it can move, When you turn on the machine does the scanner try to move before the code shows up.

Scan does not work wirelessly, in very rear senarios it works on wireless if software has been made available by the printer manufacturer.

You need to check with lexmark if wireless software for scanning is available for your printer, if not then you will have to do manual scanning

Try a couple of cleaning printing cycles.
This will produce a good alignment page.

You will have to install the printer driver software on the other computer.
During install it should ask if the printer is a network printer or direct conncected -- click network connection.

You should be able to download the software package at Lexmark's website.

Hello Karen. What you have there is a wireless printer but the scanner and he copier functions require the cable hooking the lexmark up to the computer. If you do not have one of these USB cables, you can gett one at Walmart or Staples. Once you connect the two, the prompts will appear on your computer screen.

That said, if you have never used this lexmark to scan with your computer you will need the disc, also called a driver. If you have misplaced it you can download it for free. Just go to lexmark.com/drivers

Hello. The only common cartridge the X4650 and the X4690 uses is the #31 photo color print cartridge. Other cartridges for the printers are non-interchangeable.
