Copy and Alarm Button Flashing

Regarding your Pixma MP830 printer inquiry (Canon PGI-5 / CLI-8 ink cartridges) and A200 error message, most likely the built-in PRINTHEAD is reaching it's end-of-life and may need to be replaced with a new one. Typically, the average printhead only produces ~4000 to 5000 pages before it electrically fails. For information on PRINTHEAD failures, please refer to our support page: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=2934 However, let's run thru the full checklist to screen out additional variables: Canon A200 Error, Troubleshooting: Replace ink cartridges if they are empty: At the risk of stating the obvious (frequently not so obvious in the heat of the moment), find out if the ink cartridges are empty. When in doubt, try a new Canon original ink cartridge to see if this corrects the error. A data cable of print head is open: Did you just replace an ink cartridge? Perhaps you shifted a data cable to the print head. Replace PRINTHEAD if it is damaged. Refer to Canon.com for replacement part. Turn off the printer for some time In other troubleshooting tips we have advised any inkjet printer not seeing regular usage to run a test print page. If you are making heavy usage of a Canon inkjet printer, consider giving it a break. This will avoid saturating the printhead with heat, prolonging useful service life. Update the printer driver: If you have followed all this with no success, from the printer menu (not computer) push the buttons to get a demo or test page. If everything is ok when you do this, however you get the service error code A200 when you try to produce something productive, odds are good, the print driver the computer is using has gone south (corrupt). When printing on a network, a corrupt printer driver can spread like an unwanted virus. Depending on the network, a driver that has gone rogue may be seen as an updated driver, which network will 'helpfully spread' as an update. CAUTION: Be advised, the use of compatible/clone cartridges (i.e. sold thru the internet from China) are known to be problematic and may cause printer errors and/or permanent PRINTHEAD failures. We do NOT suggest refilling these types of ink cartridges.....refilling of original/genuine ink cartridges is only suggested! Canon PGI-5/CL-8 Ink Refilling Services & Additional Cautions:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SSnu4XhWG0 ----------------- However, if your printer works routinely after inserting a brand new Canon OEM (original) PGI-5 and CLI-8 ink cartridge(s) in it, this will confirm the cause of failure. Printer shuts off immediately upon powering up

First of all do not plug your printer into a power bar. Make sure all packing tape is removed and there are no jams.Check your power cable to ensure it is plugged in and it is not damaged be sure there are no cracks or splits. If the power adapter is heating up while the printer is off. you may just need a new power adapter.

Some printers retain memory of last programe and you may have to cancel this out before you can move on ,check your troubleshootpage in your manual if you have one to do this, or you may have togo to default/factory settings and activate. If that dosn't work ,disconectfrom mains supply and leave for about 15 minuets to let it reset and try again..?goodluck...T.C.

Blocked print head nozzles Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles. Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles. After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. Also try - A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

Color printing

The printhead has either become too clogged to flush out with with the internal cleaning operation (which uses a LOT of ink), OR, the nozzles are not firing. If after several cleaning operations there is still no significant improvement, you will need to replace the print head. I see this frequently with Canon and Epson, and Brother inkjet printers. Usually, it is due to leaving the printer idle for too long, or removing a cartridge and not replacing it right away. The air gets to the residual puddle of ink in the head and dries it. Also, using compatible or refilled cartridges can risk clogging because the ink formula is not an exact copy of the genuine Canon formula. I recommend using only new Canon carts for replacement, and do not mix Canon with non-Canon carts. You can find the replacement print head by Google searching "MP830 print head". Prices can vary from around $70 - $90. Changing it out is fairly simple. You only need to lift a lever that holds the head in place. Make certain that it is squarely seated, and then run a few pages of a color document, or do a couple of standard cleaning operations to "prime" the head.Make sure the hed is NEW and not used or "refurbished". Here is one source on eBay that sells it for $78.00:http://compare.ebay.com/like/330643273134?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y

I have a MP830 all

Hi renaybr1956,

Typically this problem is caused by a clogged print head. This can be dried out ink or from using non-Canon brand ink. Try cleaning, checking, then replacing the black ink with a Canon cartridge. Kindly follow the procedure below:

Note:
Cleaning the print head consumes a small amount of ink. Cleaning too often reduces the amount of ink in the ink tanks.

Print head cleaning is performed when you connect the power cord. Your machine may perform print head cleaning periodically to avoid clogging.

Step1:

Print the Nozzle Check Pattern.

To check whether the print head nozzles are clogged, print the Nozzle Check Pattern.

If the print quality is poor, perform print head cleaning.

Step 2:

Perform print head cleaning.

This unclogs the print head nozzles.

Print the Nozzle Check Pattern again.

To check whether the print head nozzles are clogged, print the Nozzle Check Pattern.

If the print quality is still poor, perform two print head cleanings.

Print the Nozzle Check Pattern again.

Step 3:

Perform deep print head cleaning.

This is a more powerful cleaning.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Canon MX328 error display 5b00

Good Day Atzkie!

The error 5B00 in Canon MX328 is a waste ink tank full. The printer detected the number of times that the cartridge has been refilled and counted the volume of the waste ink that flows out from the cartridge to the absorber pads.

You can clear the error on the printer using a MP reset tool. This tool will reset the counter for the waste ink tank.

First of all you will need to download this MP328 tool and run it on your system.
To download, go to http://www.ziddu.com/download/15321203/MP328.exe.html.
Click the download button, then, enter the verification code before hitting another download button.
Click the save button to start downloading.

This is the procedure:

Connect first your printer directly to your computer via usb cable.
1. Make sure the printer is recognized by your computer.
2. Make sure that printer is set as default printer.

Set your printer in to Service Mode
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold down STOP/RESET button (red circle with inverted triangle)
3. While holding down STOP/RESET button, press and hold down ON button (power on button)
4. Release the STOP/RESET button while holding still the ON button.
5. While holding down ON button, press twice the STOP/RESET button
6. Release the ON button.
(On LCD control panel it will display Service Mode. Wait for a few seconds to display "IDLE" - that is the time when printer is set to Service Mode)

After setting the printer into service mode, run the MP328 tool.

Run MP328 Tool

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WHEN THE ERROR CODE IS 5010

According to Canon, the solution could be as simple as turning the unit off and then on again. Another option (if this is a new unit and not been used) is that the scanner lamp is locked, you just need to unlock it using the swith located on the machine (usually near the scanner bed). It is locked by default when shipped from the factory.

Other than that, Canon only says the unit may need to be repaird. The direct support page that this information is quoted from is below.

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp830#ServiceAndSupport

The print spooler service is

There are a few different causes for this. All of them leading to the "spooler" service to stop running.

The most common remedy is to just reboot the computer. If this fails, there may be a corrupted document in the spool queue that is crashing the service repeatedly here are the steps to clear it out:

For Windows XP (your computer says "start" in the bottom left)
1. Go to the "Start" menu and click "run"
2. in the window that comes up enter "net start spooler"
3. Try printing again.
4. If the problem continues then:
5. Click "start" and "Run" again.
6. enter "C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS" and click ok and delete any items in there.
7. Close that window.
8. Restart the computer.
You should now be able to print.

For Windows Vista or Windows 7:
1. Click the blue "Start" orb
2. In the search box enter "command"
3. The computer will return with several items
4. Right click on the black item that says "command prompt"
5. click "run as administrator"
6. in the black window type "net start spooler" and press enter
7. try printing again, if it fails continue to step 8
8. open the blue start orb
9. in the search box enter "C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS"
9.5. If you get a permissions message click continue
10. delete all items from there.
11. back in the black command prompt box, type "net start spooler" again
12. You should be able to print.

If you still cannot print, you may have one or more corrupted print drivers. In this case you will need to delete and re-install your printers from the computer using instructions from the manufacturer.
