Do not know cubic size. It is a side by side approx 10 years. Motor is running but coil is freezing up in freezer, refrig side is not cooling. Evaporator fan not running so changed evaprorator motor. Fan will still not run. Refrig side still not cooling. Did I not hook up elect wires properly? On evap. motor I connected the 2 brown wires to the bottom elect post and single yellow to top post! Did I rehook wires properly? Or, do I still have another problem?

My Amana Refrig is a model SQD33VL not as you have listed!

You did not answer which wires go to what 2 posts on Evap.motor! I have the 2 brown as a single

connection to bottom post & yellow single to top post. Still fan not running. Lowered defrost

control inside refrig.side, ( top - back ) from 5 to 2 and also removed front kick plate and turned

red knob ( in center of aluminum box ) until it clicked. Fan did not start running but coils were melting ice build up.so defrost heater must be working. Please advise.

Freezer and fridge cooling but freezer not freezing and fridge not cold enough

Hello,
Their are a couple things that could be causing that.

The conderser coils under the kickplate below the doors is clogged with dust. Remove the kickplate and check/clean using a refrigerator coil brush that could be purchased from your local hardware store (Lowe's HomeDepot Ace hardware)

The condenser fan motor behind the refrig., behind the lower service plate directly next to the compressor isn't running and needs to be replaced.

Good luck,i hope this helps you to get your refrig back to cold,

GE SIDE BY SIDE MODEL #GSH22JFRE CC FREEZER COIL FREEZING AND REFRIG NOT COOLING. DEFROST MANUALLY AND REFRIG COOLS FOR A COUPLE DAYS, THEN FREEZER COILS FREEZE AGAIN

We have a GE side by side that was only 4 years old before it starting giving us problems-coiling freezing over. The warranty period was only one year on all parts, including the compressor. Through our research we learned that profile appliances have or did have a better warranty. I believe it is 5 years on all or certain components. Either way it may be worth contacting GE customer service to help you with the issue and determine if repairs and parts for your appliance are still covered under warranty. They were very helpful in our case and ultimately discounted the parts I ordered and replaced myself. Replaced the the temperature sensors on the freezer side, the defroster thermostat and defroster heater before finally breaking down and replacing the control board. The control board was the problem. It was very easy to replace. While working through the issue, we would defrost the coils located on the inside of the freezer side with a hair dryer. It would get us by until the parts came in or they frosted over again and prevented air from circulating over them, thus causing the freezer not to cool. Good luck. Hope this helps you.

First thing this a.m. we discovered a puddle of water on the floor on the left side of the fridge. This is not the first time....so we are wondering what is causing this? I am guessing about the profile #...

You have a plugged defrost drain.
Unplug refrig. Unload freezer. Remove shelves. Take back panel out of freezer. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush water in the area of the defrost drain hole until it is clear and water will run through it into the defrost drain pan under the refrig. The drain is a hole about the size of a nickel, usually in the very back center, below the cooling coils. You can use the turkey baster to force water into and eventually through the drain hole. Remove ice from floor of freezer.
Re-assemble, refill freezer, and plug in. Now, when your refrig defrosts, the water will go out the drain instead of onto the freezer floor and out the freezer door onto your floor.

Our 4 year old GE side by side frig suddenly warmed to 64 degrees. Freezer stopped freezing and is at 43. Motor is running.

Really need to know what motor(s) are running (compressor, evap fan inside freezer compartment, condenser fan under fridge)?? Of course, check your temperature (thermostat) settings. Side-by-sides usually have 2 of them. They should be labled for refridgerator and freezer. The freezer control usually only opens a baffle from the freezer compartment to the refridge compartment. The refrigerator temp control is the one that controls the compressor on-off cycles and the temp of refrig compartment (this keeps the refrig compartment from freezing the milk and cokes) If the freezer control/baffle is set too far open, this will cause the refrig temp control to shut off too soon for the freezer temp to get low enough. These controls can get bumped out of the correct setting accidently from time to time.
To check the following, the fridge has to be running, or in a condition where it "should be" running: If compressor is running (condenser fan should be too), check if evaporator fan (inside freezer) is running. Open (freezer) door and hold door light switch in when you check evaporator fan operation (some fans stop when door is open) If it is not running you may have a bad evaporator fan motor. It could also be a bad defrost timer, causing the evaporator (also inside back of freezer) to ice-up. This blocks the air flow over evap. Also, there is a defrost terminator switch on the evaporator coil that stops the defrost cycle when coil is clear of ice/frost (but timer hasn't ended defrost cycle). If it is defective, that could also keep the fridge from going into the defrost cycle, or taking it out too soon. If it is the timer, change the defrost terminator as well. Depending on how handy you are, you may be able to check/change any of these parts yourself. If you don't know much about elecrical stuff, you should leave it to a repair tech. Hope this helps.

Whirlpool runs, but freezer not freezing and frig not freezing

If the compressor is running but the unit is not cooling you may have lost the refrigerant.  See if the condenser coils at the back or bottom are hot.  If they are only warm then the refrigerant is low and can be recharged.  Service tech should check for leak in coolant system.

THIS IS A DEFROST PROBLEM EITHER THE THERMOSTAT OR DEFROST TIMER IS BAD! THE THERMOSTAT IS LOCATED BEHIND THE WALL IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT ATTACHED TO THE COILS TO KNOW IF ITS BAD IF WILL HAVE A RAISED SPOT ON THE BACK LIKE ITS BUSTING OPEN CHECK THAT

Freezer not freezing, fridge is about 50 degrres in my lg side by

Check the relay on the compressor. But in order to due this right you are really going to need to have a company replace yor condensing coils and your drain pan. Check also the thermostats. Located under the dials to adjust your temperature settings. You can get some of the parts at repairclinic.com

Frost in Freeze

Hi Frezer Frost.
It sounds like your defrost circuit in the refrigerator has gone south. This melts the ice off of the cooling coil in the freezer section every 8 - 10 hours of run time.
If you are old enough to remember the manual defrost refrigerators, that is why you had to defrost them occasionally. The ice layer on the coil acts as an insulator, preventing the coil from working properly.
Greg.
