Washer will not spin with very light loads or heavy loads (i.e. cotton bath matt). Must be mfg. defect, has done this since I bought it apparently, but was months before I had wash one article by itself. Is there a fix to this?

Hi, Actually the "fix" for the problem you described is quite simple and not a manufacturer's defect at all. You must add another item of similar or equal mass/wieght. Most front load washer's will never reach their true spin potential with only one item in the basket, they aren't designed to. The motor "dyno" measures the balance of the load by way of resistance or if you like "wieght differential". If the dyno consistently senses more wieght on either side of the basket it will advance to the "off" position and subsiquently "skip" the spin, hence saving your washer from major damage. This is a good feature trust me. Try that out, I hope it helps you and explains why sometimes the washer doesn't spin the clothing/articles out satisfactorially. Good Luck :)

Frigidaire Gallery washer won't produce final high spin

Hey friend, thank you for your post!
I see that your Frigidaire washer, FWT449GFS2 is not entering the final high spin cycle. It is possible that you could have a defective motor or timer. Since it could be any one of these underlying issues I would recommend you having a professional come out to the home for the repair of your washer. -Matt

I am getting an error it is as follows: finished, spin, and wash lights blinking plus 3 beeps. What does this mean?

Try restarting it, make sure the load isnt to heavy, if that does not help, call a local repair man.

The washer tub bearing may be defective, but that is the only thing that I can think of. Are you noticing this on all loads or just heavy items like bath towels and jeans? Are you redistributing the clothes before the final spin, try that. Also do not overload the washer, wash to medium loads instead of one full to the top load. Wastes water but saves on repairs.

Washer will not start...indicator lights are on. We have unplugged and tried to start by pressing "cotton/sturdy" and the start/pause. Cannot change settings

Do you hear a double beep sound when depressing any of the other buttons? If so you most likely have a defective key panel. If nothing happens at all, it may be the home control board (inside the control panel). Before you replace the board, try this diagnostics test,
Press and hold the hand wash key and the heavy soil keys for 3 seconds. The display should go to "00" next press the spin only key and the machine should run a quick spin test. When this completes press the "off" key to exit service mode.
Now try the machine, and hopefully you have cleared it's software glitch.
Good luck to you!!

Washer won't spin. Washed bath mats (small) and

Read a post from someone else on this - turned out it works fine, just wouldn't work with the small wet load. I added towels to the bath mat load, washed them, it spins fine. Washed clothes & that worked fine too. Yay!! Not broken. Just not found of small loads of bath mats!

Hello - we have a top loading Maytag Performa washing machine that leaks water during the spin cycle when my wife is washing heavy items that she has placed on center spindal to avoid an unbalanced load....

Maytag Epic is leaking water from the bottom about 8 or 9 inches from the front door back on the right side. Is there and thing i can do. It only about 2 years old or less.

The machine stops after the wash cycle and won't finish.

The code is UE

load too small.
• Load is out of balance.
• The washer has an imbalance
detection and correction
system. If individual heavy
articles are loaded (bath
mat, bath robe, etc.) and the
imbalance is too great, the
washer will make several
attempts to restart the spin
cycle. If an imbalance is still
detected, the washer will stop
and the error code will be
displayed.
• Add 1 or 2 similar items to help balance the load.
• Rearrange items to help balance the load.
