This is caused by one of three problems. First and most likely, the walking belt is loose. To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns. If it takes more than 2 turns then something else is the problem. The second problem that it could be is the drive belt might be loose. To tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down. The third problem that it could be is the walking belt could be worn and need to be replaced. Let me know if you have any questions.

My vintage kenmore hand wheel was frozen now it turns manually but not when I use the foot pedal, then it won't turn

Either you will replace the belt or have to adjust the motor/belt tension.
1. The motor can be loosened by a couple of bolts. This allows the motor to be moved to adjust the tension of the belt.
2. The tension can be adjusted properly by turning the motor on with the foot pedal; low speed.
3. While the motor is running move the motor in a fashion that will loosen or tighten the belt. The correct location will allow the motor to run at it's highest speed.
4. Re-tighten the bolts and retest the machine.

Acd3 treadmill belt wont move

hi There.
A treadmill belt can shift to the right or left over time. If it shifts enough, this may cause the belt to stop moving. Stand at the back end of your machine and inspect the belt. If it has shifted, you will need to center it by turning the rear roller adjustment bolts. These bolts adjust both the tension and the centering of the belt. Follow the instructions in your owner's manual that explain which of the two bolts you need to tighten or loosen to shift the belt back to the center.
If the belt is too tight, it could cause enough tension that the motor can't turn the belt. This is most likely the cause of your belt not moving if you recently adjusted the belt tension due to slippage. Lift the edge of the belt. If you can't raise it at least 2 to 3 inches off the walking deck, the belt is too tight. Follow the directions in your owner's manual for loosening the belt. You will need an Allen wrench to loosen the rear roller adjustment bolts.
If the troubleshooting does not get the belt running again, you may have a tight motor belt or a bad motor. You will need to remove the motor hood to access these parts of your machine. If your treadmill is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer for a professional repair. You may void the warranty if you attempt to work on the motor yourself.

Motor is struggling to go when weight is applied (when I step on it)

hi it seem like the motor is fine but the belt on the motor either needs to be tightened or replaced. best way to find out is to take off the front cover showing the motor and step on the treadmill. if the belt isnt moving but the motor is spinning then you need to replace the belt on the motor. or you can try to adjust the belt. i had the same problem, i just tightened the belt and everything works fine.

My nordic track treadmill's walking belt stops when I start walking on it but the motor is still running although the front roller is not moving when I start walking on the walking belt. Do you think the...

Unplug the unit remove the motor shroud inspect the drive belt if the rubber feel slick then my recommendation is to replace the drive belt. Adjusting the drive belt may take care of the problem if you do not need to adjust it too tight. If you choose to do the adjusting and feel you have adjusted the running belt thinking it would resolve the slipping, then back the tension down until it the running belt is slipping then adjust until the slippage is resolved.

I have a necchi model number 537fa. the light comes on but the pedal and motor isnt running. you can manuely move the needle up and down, but the machine isnt running. could it be a belt?

If it is a belt problem, you should be able to hear the motor running. If you cant hear the motor running then it has to be the foot control or cord or possibly the motor.

If I stand on the belt it stops moving

Unplug unit remove motor shroud so you can see the drive belt, plug in unit then start it you will be able to see whether the drive belt or running is actually causing the problem. If it is the running belt then turn both rear roller adjustment bolts clockwise in equal quarter turn increments until treadbelt stops slipping. NOTE: Be sure to run on treadbelt to ensure that the treadbelt does not slip while under load. Use 1/4" allen wrench
If the drive belt is slipping then to adjust the belt you must loosen the adjusting bolt on the motor frame then hold the motor by hand applied tension to belt then tight bolt you should be able to twist the drive belt no more then 45 degrees if you can repeat adjusting process.

When weight is put on belt it stops. works fine by itself at all speeds

If you can stop the belt. You need to be aware that both running & drive belts can cause the same problem so I suggest that you remove the motor shroud and when you are adjusting whether the front roller is moving and the running belt has stopped (adjust back rollers) or the roller has stopped and motor is rotating ( adjust Drive Belt)
