How do I move my Proform Treadmill to another room without taking it apart completely. It will not fit thru the doorway and too heavy to lift alone.

  • Anonymous Mar 25, 2014

Moved it once into another room and was too big AND heavy, tore up my wall. Dropped it,and almost went with it. Damage luckily was superficial, but I was hurt. How can we take it apart without breaking the belt or the computer?

I have moved this treadmill several times since we bough it. Up and down stairs and from one room to another. I also used to be a mover so I hope this helps. I am not sure what model you have but i have the 525x. To move it I make sure the incline is set to zero, list the track/running section and lock it into place with the locking pin located on one of the handles. The Proform i have has attached wheels so i lean it back and get it close to the door standing straight up. Once there I turn the treadmill slightly and get one side through the doorway then I pull it halfway through the doorway. If its a tile, wood or linoleum floor make sure to put a rug under the treadmill to protect the floor. It will also helo it slide through the doorway easier. Then tuun the treadmill slightly the other way and get the other half through the door. Once there i tilt it back on its wheels and move it where i want it.

ProForm Crosswalk 831.297231. The motor hums but does not move the tread.

Question edited for clarity and what the make and model actually is.

This is likely to be the Start / Run Capacitor on the motor. It gives the motor and electrical jolt and ten keeps it running.

I need to move treadmill Proform XP 650E to another room but the door is small

Have you considered moving the doorway first? Or you could go with what all these other people are suggesting: turn up the speed and then ride it like a tank through the wall. If you have drywall you might slide right through. Please record the whole thing for the rest of us. We all need a good ab workout from laughing at the result. http://www.floridaaesthetics.com/medical-weight-loss

I need to move the treadmill and can't find the manual to find out how to break it down - won't get through the door! What is the easiest way to take it apart?

You will need to take out the screws on each side that holds the console to the uprights. When you lift up the right side of the console be carefull as you will need to disconnect the upright cable from the console cable. There is a clip to press as you pull the cable connectors apart. Tie a string around the cable connector that is in the upright cable that runs thru the upright as you will have to pull it out when reassembling. You can now lift the console off. You may be able to turn it on its side and fold the uprights down to carry it through the dorway. If it still won't fit, remove the struts too.

Get Life Fitness 9700 generation treadmill through doorway

You need to remove the upper console arms/assembly - unbolt the five or six large bolts holding the frame to the base (you will need to remove the motor hood) and unplug the cable from the circuit board that goes up inside the arm to the console (make sure the power is unplugged!) use a 3/4'' ring spanner or socket.
