My 93 toyota camry starts but then dies as soon as it hits 4000 rpm or when gas released. Changed fuel filter already

This can be caused by many things, i would start with having the fuel preasure tested first, this is to make sure enough gas is getting to the motor, the releasing gas pedal may also be caused by a misfire or bad idle air control valve, have the computer scanned for codes and see if there are codes stored or comeing up, this is an older car it wont store codes to long they clear with the key unless its a hard code, which means continued failure.. hope this helps

The mass air flow often goes bad on them. Did you have the vehicle scanned. Try unplugging the mass air flow and driving it. It is built into the air intake hose. If that does not change things, check the fuel pressure, and the throttle position sensor.

take your car to a parts supply store and ask them to use the diagnostic scan tool. Sounds like it could be the map, maf, or the tps. at a minium take the throttle body off and clean in or take your air cleaner off and spray some cleaner in the body while the engine is running.
