Will clunk hard when accelerating slowly, and then

My 04 chevy Silverdo 4x4 will clunk hard when acceleration slowly, and will clunk again when braking, sometimes it will clunk twice when braking. I'm not driving it hard or braking it hard.

Is the clunk noticed as soon as the brake pedal is released? Your brake shoes engage in the rear drum when the brake pedal is pressed and then release as the brake pedal is released. Your shoes may be worn and might be "hanging up" for a brief period, that would make a clunk sound your describing

Clunk in 4x4 1998 f150
Start by checking the axle half shaft u joints and then the drive line u joints for worn or loose end caps. Also if you have a constant velocity joint on the front drive line make sure the centering ball and socket are not worn. Most people never grease this item and by the time you figure it out it's too late.
