run the fault codes to look for injector problems
check injectors for bad tips
check fuel pressure to injectors
check for vacuum leaks with the foot on the brake ( booster leaks --check by applying the hand brake with the foot off the brake and if the problem is not there it is the brake booster faulty)
Sounds like the Engine mounts need to be checked, and/or it has intermittent firing on one or more cylinders. Could be the spark plugs and/or the Fuel injectors need to be cleaned. As the Engine somtimes shuts down, I would suspect the plugs or injectors.
that is the engine misfiring.
get a tune up, at 60k miles. every.
open hood see engine shake? that is called misfire.
and wastes fuel.
and will get progressively worse utill stalled.
correct thinking
the car has an onboard code reporting system that stores fault codes
have the fault codes read and that will point you to the fault area
all the suggested are not correct because you say that it idles
i'm thinking a faulty brake booster or other serious vacuum leak
take car to local part store they diagnose for free ....it might just need a tune the diagnose can tell you exactly what is causing the check engine light to come on
you may have purchased some bad fuel only. it happens alot. pay attention to the fuel that you purchase as hondas are known for rejection of ethynol based fuel. or you bought bad gas that had water in it. be loyal to the place that you purchase your fuel! if it sounds to good to be true, well you know. the best fuel is 93 octane at the place that you can trust to sell 93octane right? i can't recommend a certain buisness, but oil spills are never good. good luck and thank you for choosing fixya.com.
