Lights I have a 1987 Toyota Camry! All of the lights work and have good fuses but have a little problem. When I turn my head lights on the right rear tail light is out. It is extremely weird because when I push my brakes that same bulb will work. I have no answers to this and dont even know where to start to fix it. Hope some one can help!!!

as response to your solution i understand what you are saying. The thing is that I know they are the same bulb for both functions. I know the bulb is good is why i dont understand. I have tried brand new bulbs and even switched the bulb from left to right and it still doesnt work. Hope you understand.

There is a contact at the bottom of the bulb, with the light assembly. It can become intermittent or make no contact at all. I have replaced the taillight bulb assembly (plastic rectangle) and it resolved the problem.

You can test this by pushing on the back of the contact plate, and the bulb will work. Basically the contact has worn out, and it is no longer making contact with the light bulb

The taillamp bulb and the brake lamp bulb are the same bulb. The brake part of the bulb has its own filament, as does the taillamp side. The brake filament is brighter than the tail-lamp filament.
What you have is "1/2" of the bulb is burned out.
Go out and buy a # 1157 bulb, and replace the right rear bulb. This will fix your issue.
Glad to help, and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Turn signal not working

TAIL LIGHT NOT WORKING

It can be faulty tail light bulb or its issue with tail light control switch or its wiring's are short.

Check the voltage at fuse slot of tail light.Do you receive 12 volt there. If not, then it says tail light switch is not receiving power supply.

I have a 1987 toyota 4runner and no running lights or dash lights . The tail light fuse is ok but still no dash lights or running tail lights break lights light up fine.

THE DASH LIGHTS ARE USUALLY CONTROLLED BY A SMALL THUMB WHEEL NEAR THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH ON THE DASH. THAT IS A RHEOSTAT, THAT MAKES THE DASH LIGHTS BRIGHT & DIM. REPLACE OR BYPASS IT.

Tail light stop working on my 92' toyota camry

In the car trunk, there may be a electrical relay box behind the panel on the left side. It is usually no bigger than 4 inches by 4 inches and yellow in color. This is present in 1987-1991 Toyota Camrys and is generally not in most repair manuals. This yellow electrical relay box may have burnt out. Best place to pick one up at an inexpensive price is at the car wrecking or salvage yard. It is very expensive at the dealer. It is easy to replace with no special tools required. I have done this on my 1991 Camry,
