From Bushnell's website:
The internal rechargeable battery is encased within
the sealed shell off the Bushnell Neo. Any attempt to gain access to the
battery will result in damage to the device and void the manufacturer's
limited warranty. If the internal battery in your device requires
service, please contact Bushnell Technical Support.

Hi,
This is definately a clear indication that the battery needs to be repalced. Its showing that its fully charged when its not getting any charge at all thus not powering up when removed from the charger. This could also be causing the problem pertaining to you first question about the blank screen with the vertical black like.

Downloaded the sync app to my pc but it won't install.
This seems to be a problem on PCs using Windows 7.
Solution:
1) Click on your Start Menu
2) Select Computer
3) Open Local Disk C.
4) Open Program Files
5) Open Bushnell
6) Open Neo Sync
7) Open Native
8) Delete IGolf.lck
9) Close out of everything, restart your PC, and attempt to launch the Sync Application again when your computer has started back up.
If the above fails to solve the problem, you need to install a new USB driver. Contact iGolf at 858-300-5513 and they will email you the PL2303 Prolific Driver.

I've had the same problem today and found the following advice:

I downloaded the driver from

rather than send an email and now have it working on XP, Vista and windows 7 starter.

Won't power on
the same thing happened to my bushnell nav500 gps. Use a pencil point and do a soft reset. I did this and everything came back and it hasnt been any problems since.
