New Bushnell Back Track 5. Can't get the battery compartment open. How do you do it?

I need to open a Backtrack 5. Not the backtrack.

I can read the directions. I just can't get it to open.

All you did is send me the instructions for the back track, not the baxk track 5.

I have the Point 5, and I have those instructions. What do you do when you still can't get it open? I have read several complaints about this, but no solutions.

I think you must have the Back Track Point 5 you mean? There is no device called a Back Track 5.. so assuming you have the Point 5 model you want this manual here, it shows you on the third page the position to have the back in so you can remove the back and replace the batteries, just scroll to the third page:

http://www.bushnell.com/manuals/gps/360210_BackTrack_Point5_6LQSG_Web.pdf

If that does not your look like your model you must have a version of the original Back Track which can be found here... on page 2 of this manual it shows you how to take off the back to replace the battery:

Thanks much, let me know if you have more questions or if somehow those don't cover it. Just reply here.

I see, so you have unlocked it as shown and it does not budge at all? The back cover should just pop off, you may need to pry it with something. It sounds like somehow it may have really "fused" together due to heat and moisture. If you can't get it with a little bit of wiggling and possibly a small bladed flat head screwdriver, then definitely don't damage the unit, but instead just call Bushnell, they will probably have you send it in to them so they can work on it, and if they can't get it they should replace the unit at no cost to you. Their number is (800) 423-3537.

    Thanks so much,
    Tim

Hi. Heres a link for your gadget. Removing the battery compartment is included in this link.

Tap the unit in palm of your hand then rotate the cover counter clockwise.

Bushnell neo ion golf gps watch . cannot find serial number to register for updates ?

Hello, B J -

Instructions for registering your watch start on page 20 of the watch instructions (see the PDF document, Adobe Acrobat Reader software needed - free):
https://www.bushnellgolf.com/content/non_product/support/NeoPlus-GPSWatch-Manual.pdf

Apparently, the watch serial number is printed on the watch packaging. You may not have kept that. Or, you may not have purchased the watch from an authorized dealer.

If you find you need the watch serial number to register your purchased watch, it may be located inside the watch battery compartment.

NOTE: The instructions for your model watch state the following:
WARNING Do not attempt to open the Neo+ Watch. Risk of explosion if battery is replaced with incorrect type. •Do not attempt to open, disassemble or service the internal battery. The battery must be replaced by a qualified technician.
Visit a jewelry store and ask one of the store employees to open the watch back and look in the battery compartment for a number.

Best wishes.

I have a bushnell range finder 1500 with LEDs that are starting to fade/flicker. A new battery has not helped. Any suggestions?

In the battery compartment clean the contacts I use toothbrush and paste then rinse with WD40 (avoid allowing to much to filter inside) then stretch the springs out just a tiny bit as they tend to loose tension over time. Failing to fix with this method Bushnell has a very prompt and courteous warranty department most of their products are warrantied without question. Be Well Stay Safe

The battery for the red dot finder scope on my Bushneel 78-9669 scope appears to be dead.\r\nHow do I remove the dead one ? What is the button battery number for a new one? Thanks.......Mike

Most red dot finders use a small watch style battery-- there will either be a compartment underneath and or something that opens on the side that contains the watch battery.

You didn't give the model number but there's a manual for Bushnell Back track available from http://www.retrevo.com/support/Bushnell-BackTrack-GPS-manual/id/23294ci554/t/2/ which covers a number of models and may suit

How do you open battery compartment on the 1500?

With the 1500 facing you, the "B" is on the right, The "B" is on the battery door. The lever snaps to the right, push the battery door far right edge to the left... this should work
