I just got a Rosieres F200T oven for free but don't know what the degree knob means since it is numbered 1-9 and not the actual temps that I am looking for. I was searching online to see if anywhere would be able to tell me but was unable to find an answer, and was hoping you could help. Thanks.

Hello, Timcampbell82 -

I have tried to find a user's manual for a Rosieres F200T oven for you. I suspect the user's manual states what temperature each of the numbers for the degree knob represent.

So far, I have not found a manual online for you. I did find an online forum in French, with mention of a manual for the oven model, but the messages date from 2008:
https://www.meilleurduchef.com/fr/forum/notice_materiel/1225015073-14054-650

You may wish to locate a business in your area which performs repairs for Rosieres ovens and ask if they can find a manual you can purchase for your model oven. Or, perhaps one of the repair technicians can tell you what temperature each number represents.

Best wishes.

SOURCE: translate temp gauge numbers to degrees

I recommend you buy a cheap oven thermometer and check the oven temperature yourself. As a gasfitter I know temperature conversions (numbers to degrees) are approximate and I think may be done on purpose so consumers won't complain if they put a thermometer int he oven and it differs from the thermostat. Check the temperature in the centre of the oven. do not use pans and trays that fill the sheld as gas ovens need room to circulate the hot air. Also do not place items in the oven so the top of it is near the top of the oven - otherwise it will burn. I have found when cooking a chicken it needs to be turned otherwist the bottom of it may not be cooked.
Cheers
John

find an appliance parts outlet and give them the model number and tell them you need a new oven thermocouple, you maybe able to just replace the thermocouple,or you may need to replace both due to being connected together

I have a Jenn Air JJW9830DDP double oven electric, and the temperature in the oven is about 100' less than what it reads on the display. I tested the temp sensor and it ready 1073 ohms. Any s

Well, your temp sensors can still be bad. If not, there's always a new control board you buy!

However, I wouldn't drink water from that oasis without making ABSOLUTELY sure I'm not seeing a mirage.

The only common denominators between your upper and lower oven temp readings is the firmware and the oven thermometer you are using to visually check the temps.
What type of thermometer are you using to check your oven temperatures with?
If it's not a digital thermometer used specifically for testing ovens, you might just be leading leading yourself astray.
You need a calibrated thermometer. If I don't have a calibrated digital thermometer on me, I use two or three oven thermometers (the dial type) and average the readings.
It's the only way to be as close as possible with a digital probe.

If you have thoroughly verified that your oven is in fact not reading the correct temperature, then you can adjust it +/- 35 degrees F via your oven's control panel.
To adjust the oven temperature:
1 - Press Setup pad.
2 - Select the down arrow to scroll to the next screen.
3 - Select Temp Adjust using the Quickset pads.
4 - Select upper or lower oven (select models).
-"Set temperature offset using the Upper Set Knob" is displayed.
5 - Enter the desired temperature change using the Set knob.
The temperature can be increased or decreased up to 35 degrees.
The temp. change is displayed at the top of the window.
6 - Press the Set knob to accept the change.

Now, if you are still worried about the temp. reading being off, replace both the upper and lower temp sensors. That's all you can do besides replace the main board.

Oven temperature on Neff 195305317 circotherm oven

hi remember that electric can kill you even if it is unplugged, if you don't know what components are likely to hold charge or have large inductance get someone else to fix it.

you need to get the service manual as tis will have fault finding charts, part numbers, location of sensors etc. If you can't get manual then:
Not likely to be temp limiter as this cuts out if temp is too hot. Find temp probe, may be ntc, mercury vapour switch etc. take probe out disconnect leads and measure resistance, heat, or cool, probe measure resistance if not significantly different (ie 10k to 100k or 100k to 300k) then probe is shot. Take probe to spares place, get replacement and refit. Be very careful to refit leads exactly as they came out, don't want insulation to melt and oven to become live. test with oven or meat thermometer as new sensor may need calibration. Should be accurate to within 10C or so

hope this helps

Oven temp will not change

Most ovens have BAKE, BROIL and yours might have CONVECTION. Turn each on independently. If all don't work its one problem if only one doesn't its another
Also is it the gas doesn't ignite or it ignites then no temp change (or electric gets to xx degrees but doesn't get hotter?

Oven, model number 3510PRW does not reach the temperature dialed. To get to 300 degrees I have to put it on 500 degrees. Thank you for your help!

Either 2 thing can go wrong
1. you temp sense probe is failing
2. you temp offset on your dial got loose, or your knob is messed up

I have a frigidaire stove that heats to 50 degrees hotter than the know setting. Can it be adjusted to read correctly?

There is a calibration method to adjust the oven thermostat plus/minus 35 degrees if it is a digital display. The method varies depending on the model range. This calibration method is used to adjust the thermostat if it is not keeping proper tempature. For example if you are setting the oven to 350 and the actual temp it is keeping is 325 then you could use the calibration method to adjust it plus 25 degrees to correct the temp. Just so you know electric ovens will keep a pretty even temp but gas ovens will vary by 40 or more degrees to keep an "average" temp. For example the burner will come on when the oven is 330 degrees and turn off at 370. 330+370 then divide by 2=350. So a oven thermometer may not show you the temp you set it at in a gas oven but does not mean the oven temp is off.

Oven shuts down before reaching correct temperature

You will need to check the oven calibration using a thermocouple based thermometer(the one you stick in the oven is not reliable). Electric ovens should keep a near constant tempature so if you have it set to 350 the oven should stay around 350 once temp is reached. Now gas ovens are a little different. Most use a on/off thermostat and that means the temp can vary from 320 degrees to 370 degrees to keep an average tempature of 350. So if it is a gas oven you will need to let it warm-up for 10 minutes then start taking the lowest and highest 5 consectutive readings. Then add the 5 reads together and then divide the number by 5 and it should be within 10 degrees of the set tempature. If it is off by more than 50 degrees then you might not be able to get it back to proper calibration. The calibration methods are different for each range and depend on the type of thermostat you have digital(push button controls) or manual(knob). The owner's manual for your range might contain the instructions or consult the manufacture's website for the instructions.
