Dont know how to burn a disc. no instruction on the CD provided

Yes,but not a CD-R disc.Tries to burn it on a DVD+R disc.

First of all you must have a DVD writer and burning software install on your PC/Laptop.

Hello! The "E20" error code loosely means that the CD player cannot focus, or read the disc properly. This could be from a number of reasons, dirty pickup lens, dirty/scratched disc, excessive humidity, or using a burned/copied CD that was burned at a speed that was too fast to provide a "deep" enough burn to the disc. And lastly, I know GM's Delco radios in the late 90's had issues reading CD-RW's; but read CD-R's fine (if burned slow enough)

My first suggestion would be to see if this happens on all CD's - originals and/or burned ones. If it only happens on burned/copied discs - I'd recommend slowing down the burn speed to no faster than 16x and retrying. If it does happen with both types of discs, then I'd purchase a CD lense cleaner and run that through a couple of cycles.

open disc drive (cd rom) place restore disc in . turn off computer and turn it back on. follow instructions on screen. on re-boot you might have to hit the f8, f10 or f12 key to get started if you can, go to e-machine.com to get tech advice.

is it a burned cd? cause some cd players dont play burned ones. let me know if this helps

you dont need to slipstream the disc with SP 2 or SP 3 but if you want to you can following this guide :

But basically you create 2 folders on your C drive or on your desktop call one xp disc and the other one service pack

copy everything from the xp disc into the xp disc folder and then download and install iso buster ( download link )

And extract the img file as per the guide and then follow the burning instructions with regards to adding the img file using nero or a burning application. If you dont have nero and want to know how to use the img to make it bootable post back with what burning software you have and what version it is and I will find and post back with a relevant guide

Do this instead and you will never have a problem with burning CDs again. Forget about Disc Creator. Go to www.cnet.com. Search for a CD/DVD burning program called ImgBurn. It is a free program download. Download it and follow instructions. It is simple to use and can burn music, movies, HD-DVD, BluRay and ISO images..good luck and let me know if you have any problems.

I am trying to burn a movie onto a dvd using Roxio easy cd & dvd burning. The problem is that when I do burn it, it burns as a data disc. I try other things on it and it says to use the disc copier application to burn a dvd. I have searched everywhere on this progmram and there is nothing that says disc copier.

There might be a problem with your dvd lense of your dvd burner,sometimes it happen when the burner software dont recognise cd or dvd..also i would like to suggest you to use original burner software for burning cd dvd's...sometimes it also happen that the burning software dont burn certain types of audio or video files.for eg nero 6 dont convert .vob files to convert.
