Why is it displaying f2 code and will not drain?

The F2 fault code indicates a problem with the washer's drain system, and you must troubleshoot the problem to determine how to fix the washer and clear the code.
Clogged Drain Hose The drain hose on a Kenmore washer should remain free of obstructions so the water drains from the washtub. the drain hose behind the washer can impede the flow of water from the washer. A drain hose inserted more than 4 1/2 inches into a floor or wall standpipe drain system can cause the water to siphon back into the washtub.
Stuck Water-Level Pressure Switch Your Kenmore washer uses a water-level pressure switch in the control panel to detect the level of water inside the washtub. You can find the pressure switch behind the control panel in top-load models or attached to the inside wall of front-load models. The round switch is approximately 3 inches in diameter with a clear or black plastic tube connected to the bottom or side of the switch. The tube runs from the pressure switch to the exterior washtub. As the water fills the washtub, it changes the air pressure inside the tube and lets the switch know when the water has reached a predetermined level. A stuck contact on the pressure switch can stop the advancement of the wash cycle and keep the water from draining. A few taps on the top of the switch with a screwdriver handle can release the contact and fix the problem causing the F2 error code.

I have a Kenmore HE3t washer than continues to stop during the cycle and flash the F2 error code even after cleaning out lines, hoses, trap, boot and replacing the drain pump.

It is possible that the brushes on the motor that spins the drum are worn down. The drum will start and stop when this happens. Check the brushes.

Hi I have a DD603 F & P dish drawer. I had an F2 fault, found the rotor motor seized. I've replaced that but F2 still comes up & the water doesn't drain away. Any ideas?

Before we talk about water not draining away, can you confirm if the wash arms rotate during the wash cycle. The rotor works as a wash pump and drain pump depending on which cycle it is in.

If F2 keeps coming then it is also likely there is some debris in the rotor cavity which is grinding on the rotor. But one needs to be sure if F2 is coming up only in drain cycle or is it already on during wash cycle.

F2 constantly displays after was starts

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is usually an indication that you have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, this means there is something lodged in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump. There is a white screw off cap on the drain pump that you can remove to inspect the pump impeller and clean. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608545-f02_error_code

Included is a follow-on link that explains how to access and check the drain pump to clean. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris and small articles of clothing can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.

NOTE: The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

My Kenmore Elite keeps stopping during washing cyle and gives a message of F2

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This indicates that you have an obstruction in the drainage system. More than likely you probably have a clog in the drain pump. The following link explains:

F2 My washer freezes during mid cycle

"F02" is a Long Drain error code, which usually means you have an obstruction in the drain pump, drain lines, or the drain pump has failed. If the drain pump will not function, the washer will not complete, or restart a cycle. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Sometimes you may also get a "SUD" error in conjunction with this error due to the detection of air in the drain pump (lack of water flow). If cleaning the drain pump reservoir, and checking all the drain hoses does not correct the problem, you may have a failed drain pump.

Replacement pumps can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, repairclinic.com or pcappliancerepair.com. All these sites offer competitive pricing so shop all of them for the best price.

If you have any questions about this repair please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Shows f2 error code wont drain or spin

You have a "drain waterpump fault" To fix this the pump must be dis-assembled and, the obstruction blocking the pump impeller must be removed. First obtain a radiator hose pinch-off plier and, a hoseclamp plier from an autoparts store; place the hose plier on the pump hose just below the tub and/or, just above the pump. squeeze the plier until it locks closed; this will pervent the water in the tub from draining when you remove the pump cover. using a screwdriver open the pump and, remove the obstruction in the pump: be sure to cover the floor under the pump, with rags to catch any water still left in the pump.

Filter cleaned, re-set computer, still F2 error

Based upon your description, the drain pump has either failed or become clogged.
To check the pump, remove the bottom access panel (three screws along the bottom panel). There you will find access to the pump clean-out.(Large,white screw cap) BE READY TO CATCH LOTS OF WATER. CAREFULLY AND S_L_O_W_L_Y unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water. When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter. Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris.

If you need further assistance, let me know
