Sony kp-61v45 how to change projection lamp? my tv does not have a picture. however the sound is normal and can change channels. from my research it appears I need to change the lamp. however have no clue how to do this and do not know what lamp to purchase. can you assist me

May be a capacitor issue

Hi,
Press any channel button on tv remote to switch its input source as TV to watch tv channels.
As you said, screen shows Video-1 display that means tv is set on input-1 that need to be changed, press channel button on remote or tv front to shift it on tv channels mode.

There is no projection lamp in this TV. It is a 3 picture tube style rear projection.

Can you still turn it on?
If so, does it stay on with sound?

If the sound is ok and the picture is blue (even when changing channels, inputs, etc.) the lamp may have gone out.

Can you see the TV menu when you press the menu button on the remote or TV?

I had this problem with a universal remote.I tried everything you can think of.Finally I got it.I hit the setup button on top of tv and the volue down button to start the demo.I dont know exactly how long it ran but after awhile I hit a button and screen was normal...Yeah

You have already diagnose the problem,the set has a loose conection in the high voltage area or horizontal drive circuits but dont be suprize if you find more loose conections or overheated areas,while you are looking for this loose conection giving you this problem take the time and correct any other questionable spot.If you are familiar with tv service this will give a place to start but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance from a servicer,it should not be expensive.Let us know if youu need more help.
