Sony Color Rear Video Projector- KP-61V45

Sony Color Rear Video Projector KP-61V45 Picture Blanking Out- When you walk in and turn it on it will work fine. Then after a while (an hour, two hours) the picture will go blank, but the sound will be fine. It will begin with it going blank for 30 seconds or so and then come back on. Then it will eventually the picture will go out and stay out. If you turn it off and then back on while it is blank, the picture won't come back. The Stand-by light will just blink indefinately. If you give it a light wack on the side of the cabinet, the picture will then come back on. But it will just keep going out, more frequently. If you let it sit for hours it will come on and operate as normal for a while then begin going blank again. Any suggestions on what may be going on here?

You have already diagnose the problem, the set has a loose conection in the high voltage area or horizontal drive circuits but dont be suprize if you find more loose conections or overheated areas, while you are looking for this loose conection giving you this problem take the time and correct any other questionable spot.If you are familiar with tv service this will give a place to start but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance from a servicer,it should not be expensive.Let us know if youu need more help.
