My jvc RX-5020 VBK IS NOT WORKING AT MAX VOLUME,ON SCREEN APPEARS OVERLOAD SOUND STOPS AND I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT ON AGAIN ! WHAT IS GOING ON???

You must be using speakers with lower impedance than what is recommended. This causes the amplifier to over load at high volumes. The protection circuit shuts down the Amplifier to prevent further damage.
And please remember no amplifier is designed to run at full volume, same as a car speed - Even though the speedometer might show max: speed 200Miles per hour would you do it???

NO SOUND OUT OF RECIEVER, TURN VOLUME TO MAX AND CAN HARDLY HEAR ANYTHING

TURN THE VOUME CONTROL DOWN TO SOMETHING REASONABLE. MAX VOLUME IS ONLY USED TO DESTROY SPEAKERS.

Unmute it, de-select Tape Monitor, de-select M.Input.

The left side sound is intermittent

Sounds like dirt in the volume control or a high resistance speaker wire.
Try switching the right and left speaker wires and see if the problem changes.

When I plug my Onkyo receiver in it turns on and off on its own in intrevals of about one second. Is this a bad power supply or something else?

follow these steps:
*disconnect everything from the unit (treat it as if you just got it out of the box) no speaker wires no cables.
* turn on the unit and max the volume (w/o anything connected)
*if the unit shuts off during step 2 you need to send it in for service (go to onkyousa.com for the nearest service center)
*if it didn't shut off during step 2 you need to play the tuner and connect one speaker at a time.
EXAMPLE: connect your left speaker and then play the FM and then max the volume for about 2 seconds then turn it down.
if you were successful in maxing out the volume on the left speaker continue with the other speakers until you isolate w/c speaker is causing the issue. if your gonna ask why the FM...its because its a direct playing source but you can still use a cd player or a tape deck to try it out.

take note: if your receiver shuts down on a speaker that you have connected make sure to have that speaker checked or better yet replace it.

Knocking noise with my kicker compvr 15"

comp VR 15s are rated @ 500W RMS 1000Peak.
The lanzar vibe amplifier is 2 x 600W RMS at 4 OHMS 2 x 1200W MAX at 4 OHMS 1 x 2400W MAX at 4 OHMS Bridged 2 x 1000W at 2 OHMS RMS.
Your subs are single 4 ohm subs.
If your subs are wired stereo, they both are seeing 600W. (more than the rated RMS)
Chances are, you have them wired parallel to a 2 ohm mono load - of which that amplifier is not rated. In theory, it will produce about 2000W @ 2 ohm mono for a short period of time.
Your amplifier is too powerful for your subs. Turn down the gain setting to 3/4 or purchase better subs. Also be sur the subs are inthe proper enclosure. It sounds as if they are excurting past their linear x-max and colliding with the rear bump plate. This will cause damage down the road if left as is.

Speaker error

Try checking the volume on your subwoofer i had the same problem. I unplugged the system and had the same error message pop up. So i checked the volume on the subwoofer, and it was set to max, i set it to normal and i haven't had any problems since

There are 2 ways to check your volume

1...On the remote there is a button labeled "BASS" press it, and on the display it will tell you a number between -3 and +3, If no number appears then it should say either "MIN" or "MAX" if it's at max use the volume control on the remote to turn it down to "0"

2...On the remote press "SET UP"
.....Select the Volume icon by using the arrow keys, press "ok" or "enter" to access that icon
.....Select "Speaker Setup" using the arrow keys and enter button
.....Select Speaker Volume by pressing enter
.....scroll down to "SUBWOOFER" and make sure the volume is no higher than +4dB
....Once done press "SET UP" on the remote to exit the setup screen

*Note* - The speaker volume option can only be chosen when nothing is playing on the player, or the disc tray is empty, You also have to be in either, Ipod mode or DVD mode to access this menu.

Hope this solves your problem, and i apologize on the delay of this solution ^_^
