Test the high voltage capacitor,
the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.
If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.
The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed
discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if
power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two
contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.
All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.
Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.
Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

try using a voltage stabiliser .it may just solve ur problem..
SOURCE: GE jkp85 Microwave oven appears to be working
Most likely related to magnetron and diode this is for qualified tech to do only.
SOURCE: i have a ge jkp86 electric oven the oven will not
First thing that comes to mind is to make sure you are getting the correct voltage to the oven, you need 220 / 240 volts, check your breakers, fuses ,etc.
It is possable for the microwave oven to operate even if the power supplied to the oven is only 110 volts, but that low of voltage is not enough to power up the ovens heating elements.
If all seems well there, then maybe the oven element has failed / shorted ?
Good luck !

Hi,
This confirms that either the thermostat or magnetron tube is shot. The tube could be more than an old microwave is worth.
The cost of the magnetron would be around $125 and the thermostat is around $25.
