Sounds like the water valve For the ice maker fill is leaking. these are solenoid type usually found at the back bottom outside of unit. turn water to this valve off at connection in wall . You can have that valve replaced

I tried replacing the water value, but it did not correct the problem of the water leaking into the ice bin. This is a GE ice maker.

  • Anonymous Aug 24, 2011

If we know for sure that the water valve is not leaking water thru slowly, then i would conclude that the icemaker is opening the valve for too long at fill time, different manufacturers used different methods for the fill cycle, check when its filling and see what is happening, you can often hear the water valve open and shut.

My does my g&e profile leaks water?

I am assuming that this is a refrigerator. If it is leaking and you do not have an ice maker installed, then the problem is probably the drain hose from the freezer is blocked. All refrigerator freezers go through a defrost cycle to keep frost from forming in the freezer section. Every time you open the freezer door to access the freezer, moisture from the air is allowed in. The freezer from time to time shuts down and allows the ice crystels which were formed by the moisture to melt. This water then is drained through a drain hose down the back of the refrigerator to a pan under the coil at the bottom of the refrigerator. The heat from the coil evaporates the water into the kitchen air before it overflows. Check the hose and drain to be sure there are no kinks in the line and that it is not blocked. That should solve your problem.

Water leaking to bottom of freezer

ok you have a blocked freezer drain. The best thing to use to clear this is 'curtain wire (the plastic coated wire you use to hold up net curtains). Ok you need to find the drain hole in the "small tray on the back wall inside that fills and freezes and then the water is overflowing at this point to the bottom of freezer" you want to gentley feed the curtain wire down the hole untill the water drains down there. If you can't get the wire down you may need to turn the unit off to defrost as it could be frozen solid with ice. cheers

GE Monogram refrigerator/freezer problem/ice dam in ice maker

I have had the same problem with ice forming. I found the problem is from the ice maker. The water fill tube delivers water to a plastic piece that acts like a funnel. The water goes through this plastic piece into the ice maker. Ice forms in the plastic funnel piece causing the water to overflow into the ice bin and freezer.

Ice forming in bottom of freezer

Rita, your drain hole is frozen over and when your refer goes into defrost the water is running out into the cabinet instead of down the drain hole. Remove the evaporator cover and poor some boiling water in the evaporator drip pan. This should melt the ice and clear the drain hole....Catriver...post back.
