Opening nat i have a netopia gateway and im trying to play xbox live but it says i have a strict nat i accidently opened the nat before but it reverted back i not very good with technical stuff ive looked at the other soulutions but i cant find the thigs they say to do

you need to open the following ports up on your router
Xbox Live 360 requires you to forward the following ports: 53,80,88,1863,3074.
either open the ports for all devices or give your xbox a static ip and open the ports above for it.

You Will Have to Disable the Firewall In Your modem / Router

And IF it is a router then Open The Ports

• TCP 80
• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
• UDP 53
• TCP 53

And also make sure that UPnP is Enabled

Try this instead Set static IP on your router like 192.168.1.60 (depend on your gateway) and DNS1 = 2.2.2.2 , DNS2 2.2.2.3

I had the same problem when i started 3 years ago. now i recently bought the new wireless adaptor and have one of the new routers from eircom and after 20 minutes during gameplay it disconnects me from xbox live.it is really startin 2 annoy me now. does anyone know what could be causing this to happen??

Open up your internet explorer then go to tools then internet options then make the changes nessessary i would recommend you go to google on what to change specificly

First make sure your security type on the router is WEP-Personal. You may need to get the port range for that game or manufacturer. Then enter them in to the gaming tab. This will keep ports open all the time. NAT 2 is acceptable but you want NAT 1. Some internet connections cannot get NAT1.reply if you need further assistance

You need to enter the router configuration. How you do this varies by model, but usually involves typing your gateway address into a web browser. Then, you need to assign your xbox an internal IP address and activate port triggering or forwarding (depending on the sophistication of your device) to send information on the designated ports to the Xbox.Was this solution helpful? To open NAT for a specific program or device, you just have to open the ports neccesary either by port triggering or port forwarding.

Ok kids... all you hve to do is log in to your belkin 54g at http://192.168.2.1

Find out what ip address your xbox is using and then Click on the DMZportion of your settings on the left hand side of the page.

Enter the xbox's ip address and click the enable box.
Click apply.


Your NAT will now be OPEN!
