Remove the battery while the camera is at the "on" position then put it back. Press the forward or rewind button then stop. This should solve your problem. It works for ither JVC owners. Are you try with other new tape?

Turn's out that JVC Does that to protect your camcorder some do it some don't because there might not be a problem and JVC will pay a tech to unlock this mode under waranty and you can get extended waranty by calling satis fusion at 1-888-269-6432 even your item is out of waranty.

Hop helps.

It is writing: unit in safeguard more eject and reinsert tape. However after reinserting tape it does not correct. Please help.

Safeguard mode follows a numeric code, go further down and you will see. In case "02" you need a service personel (something to be done/parts need to change with the mechanism)

Safegaurd mode

Unfortunately this is a repair issue. There are several failures that can occur, none of which will be resolved without service, that create this safeguard situation. Often the fpc cable which carries sensor information to the micro has been injured and that requires repair. Good luck, magic seadog

Unit in safeguard mode

You mix te info with Write protected tapes.
Safe guard mode is caused by the motor that takes the tape out of it's case, through the mechanics and past the video head.
If for some reason the electronics detect that it's been done by too much force, the safe guard issue promts.
