Multiple print requests have been sent from laptop. They do not show in print jobs. They are no longer showing on laptop job list. It just keeps printing the unwanted jobs. Can I flush the memory of the printer some how?

  • Anonymous Mar 12, 2014

I have received a white pages bill for advertising which I feel I did not request. I was informed that White pages called an we confirmed advertising for our business. When I asked for the recording it was dated 2009, with the wording onward in it. The recording referred to 2010 and 2011. I have requested that they cancel our adverting in the white pages by email they have not replied or confirm that this would be done. They have sent me a link to their web site which allows me to change my listing but not cancel it. Where to I stand with this and how do I stop the advertising which I did do not want.

When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

When i put paper inside the printer it keeps on printing the same papers over and over again

Click on the printer icon in your tray and see if the job was sent several times. A window will open with the list of jobs sent to printer. Highlight all jobs and clear the printer or delete all jobs; the window will be cleared of all jobs and the printer should stop printing.

Whenever I turn the printer on it just keeps printing little weird symbols like one or two lines per page and then goes to the next page and does the same thing just different symbols and it goes on and on...

There is a job in the print queue. At the start of a print job a code is sent saying print the following data as graphics because you have turned the printer off it thinks that all the data is text. You need to delete the job in the print queue. Select the printer in Control Panel>Printers and it should show you a list of print jobs. Delete them
