There should be no damage. Most parts do not function when there is no water to circulate.
It should be fine.

Hi,

The jumper plug must be there if it was on the old one. Also it is very important what kind of detergent did you use. Such dishwashers do not work with any kind of liquid or jell detergents and you have to use a rinse aid. Water enters the dishwasher via an electronic valve, also there is also a filter where the hose enters the valve, but as you have already disconnected the pipe connected to it you would have seen any obstruction. The valves are pretty cheap and pretty easy to replace, it usually consists of removing the lid and disconnecting a couple of wires with spade clips on them, undoing a couple of screws to remove the valve, then just replacing it and reconnecting the wires.

GE dish washer model gsd2600go2bb will not fill with water or just a little water, its not getting the water its suposed to.

Hi,

This is due to one of two issues, either the water from the house is restricted or the valve in the machine needs replaced.

To determine which it is, you will need to turn off the water to the dishwasher, the valve for the dishwasher water is usually under the sink. Remove the hose/pipe from the dishwasher inlet valve. The image below shows the water valve as part 744, it is accessible on the front left corner once you take off the lower kick panel.

With the hose taken off of this valve (744) put the hose in a bucket or put towels on the end and turn the valve back on from under the sink. We want to make sure you are getting good water flow to the dishwasher, if this is slow then you will need a plumber to find out why the water in the home is slow if this is flowing good then you will need to replace the valve on the dishwasher (744), the part number to use when purchasing the new valve is WD15X10003

Old ge dishwasher

Hi loda83,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: there isnt any water going to your dishwasher and its just making a humming noise when you turn it on

The most likely culprit is the solenoid valve. It is a simple on/off valve under the d/w on the left. Depending on make and model I might remove the d/w from the cabinet to facilitate installation. Don't forget to turn off the water first.

Dishwasher - no water coming into it

If there is no water coming in the machine check first the water supply has not a tap and this is closing.
If water is supplied regularly, then the problem is either with the inlet valve or the float switch.
See the following indications from repairclinic:

" Water-inlet valve
Float switch
Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it."
