Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. You didnt have to change the computer you need to replace the control panel. The control panel is the whole front piece which has the touch membrane on it. This is common on these units.

I have a very similar oven from
Maytag. Had it for 1.5 years before it started to break down. The
initial problem was we lost the function of a couple of buttons on
the control panel. The cost to replace the control panel was about
$400.00 with about $250 for the part and the rest for labor. The
buttons weren't all too important (self cleaning, clock, warm) so we
kept using the oven instead of paying to have the part replaced. Our repair guy is cool and tells me the
problem with the control panel is that Maytag didn't insulate the
computer boards so when you kick up the heat in the oven by using the
broil or self cleaning feature, you melt some of the contacts or
components. He says we can check appliance repair chat rooms for
more information. Sure enough, I found this problem occurs a lot for
Maytag. Man they must be making a killing off these parts. I agreed
to have my control panel replaced, but told my repair guy if it goes
out again, be prepared to install a non-Maytag oven. He gave me all
the dimensions of our oven cavity so I can pre-shop for a new oven.
Once I replaced the entire front panel, the numbers worked. I ordered the parts and did the install myself. It was easy. I spoke to a friend who has the same model and her's did the same thing after about 18 months of use. This is a problem with Maytag and I'll never buy another maytag product again. My fridge is a maytag also and the control panel went out on it after 4 years. Not good!
