Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
This is a very common problem with these types of machines the water inlet valve has a solinoid for the hot and a solinoid for the cold that opens and closes the water on demand .
When they start to pulsate like this it is trying to close the valve but it cant this is normally due to the valve being clogged with debris or the valve is failing all together and simply needs to be replaced
So what i would do is first if you can look into the inlet valve with a flashlight and see ifit looks like it has stuff in it and if so clean it out and try it again if this doesnt work than you can assum that the valve will need to be replaced here is what the one of the valves should look like or close to it .

Hi thank you for your reply.I supplied power to the inlet valve indepently and the water came in when I shut off the power to the valve the water stopped.I believe that the inlet valve is ok.Could the water flow meter cause the pulsing problem or is it one of the control board. Thank You.IX D

do a check on your inlet valve and make sure it is not leaking by first and then check the cycle timer for the fill cycle to see if it is working properly

What does the F7 code mean for my whirlpool dishwasher ADG6230

F7 or 7 times flashing
Flow meter failure

Symptom:
Water inlet valve (WV1) is switched on and the water indicator (WI) is on (level reached).

Reason:
  • Water tap closed during water inlet
  • Water inlet hose blocked
  • Water inlet valve (WV1) defective (mesure resistor ca 3,5 kOhm)
  • Flow meter (FM) sends too few / much pulses (less than 10 imp. in 10 seconds). Flow meter counts wrong (or the sump is full in less than 30 second).

Causation: Hose felt down and slipped the disc of the valve. The effect is a displacment of the valve tapped.
  • Aquastop defective
  • Flow meter (FM) defective

WHIRLPOOL ADG 6340 ix - At start and during the cycle water drains in pulses and for long time and water intake is in pulses and for long time. The cycle finishes OK but it takes long time, 30 min cycle...

since the water drain is on a float be sure there is no blockage of the screen drain area in the bottem of the dishwasher under the lower rack.the make some cleaner rinses to clean out the screen.

Solution to the problem:

Discovered that the dishwasher was covered by our household insurance policy. Phoned and arranged for it to be repaired or replaced (no charge). Engineer coming on Friday.

What flashing are you referring to ? This could very well be a fault code.
