Every an hour or so, my internet connection drops for a few seconds, up to 15 secs, disconnection me of any online action (Voice chat, online game, download, etc..) what could be the problem ? my router is 3CRWDR101A-75 and i am using Windows 7 64-bit

Activating the service requires modifying your Gmail settings.
Once you've changed the settings to enable outbound voice calls to phones, you can make calls from Google's dialing system through the Gmail "Chat" area.

Set up a headset, or microphone and speakers, on your computer to use during the call.
Sign in to your Gmail account.

Click the gear-shaped icon at the top-right corner of the screen and select "Mail settings" from the drop-down menu.


Click the "Chat" tab to see the Chat options, then set up your voice chat features. Verify the audio settings in the "Voice and video chat" section, then click the circle to the left of "Enable outbound voice calling with Google Voice" and select your default country in the "Call Phones" area.

When finished, click the "Save Changes" button. Scroll down to the "Chat" area in your Gmail and click the "Call phone" option to open the "Call" window that features the dialer number keypad.


Check that the flag to the left of the phone number field in the "Call" window matches your country so that Google Voice dials using the correct country code.

If it isn't the correct flag, click the down arrow to the right of the flag and select the correct one. Enter the number of the phone you want to call, then click the "Call" button to dial the number.

When you're finished, click "End" to disconnect the call or wait for the other person to hang up; the system automatically disconnects shortly after.

we need to first figure out whether it the modem or the router which is dropping the connection.

Please connect one of your computer directly to the modem, by pass the router and access the internet. If the connection drops then its the modem which is dropping the connection and you need to contact your isp to check it.

If the internet works fine directly with the modem then its your router which is dropping the connection. To fix the router we can upgrade it firmware.

Note; If you are not comfortable upgrade the firmware then don’t do it. If not done properly then it can damage your router.

How long have you had your modem? If your modem is old it could be as simple as getting a new one. Or it can be the isp faught. I would talk to your neighbors if you know anybody that has the same isp to see if they have trouble or not.

I would like you to attempt this troubleshooting technique which helps alot of people:
1st: Unplug your High Speed router then unplug your Wireless Router (ALL WIRES)
2nd: Shut Down your Computer(s)
3rd: After 60 seconds of your High Speed Router and Wireless router being disconnected please plug the High Speed router back in make sure that it appears Online/Connected then plug in your Wireless Router make sure that it appears Online/Connected.
4th: Turn on your computer, login in and reattempt connection.

it might be your connection.... have you checked that? if not.. then you might want to do that... if you dont have fast enough internet then it will do that too.... doesnt have enough power... ive had that happen to me
