3com used to be good things back in the old days. But this hardware is probably self destructing in some way (the problem is widespread, the manufacturer claims it is an old product and gives no solution). Do NOT buy network products from 3com (HP today). Correct me if I am wrong..

Try resetting the router through the reset pin hole at the back. Press and hold it for 15-20 seconds or until all the lights turns off then back on (not more than 30 seconds).
If the problem persist, your router is deem defective and needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps.
