Lighting hit the converter box. Can it be replaced free of charge or do I have to buy another one.

Does the DC charger come in two parts ??
If so check both parts, if you do not get a light on converter(square box) and did before it is converter...

More than likely this is a problem with the AC Adapter. Many of them have lights on the actual converter box, if the light is on we can narrow it down to a problem sometime AFTER that converter box. This meaning it is a problem with the cable leading from the AC converter box to the laptop, the connection from this cable to the computer, or the jack located on the motherboard. Also, because you said it is not charging I am going to assume that the charge light (normally has a lightning bolt indicating power) is NOT on on the actual laptop. If the light on the ac adapter is not on, of course you'll want to check the connection to the wall and try a different wall outlet as well. Sometimes I'll even go to the point to plug a lamp or something into that outlet to make sure the actual outlet is working properly. Check the AC Adapter for any damage, on the cables or otherwise. If you find something here the best option is going to be to replace the ac adapter. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and the cheapest one that I found was @ Amazon.com.

you can buy some boxes at walmart and best buy. you can convert it tho. you may need to construct the box. here is a link to how to build your own box hope this helps let me know via some feedback

Ur free air DTV converter box have problem taking in the programs codes belong to ur tv,belong to the remote.Turn the converter box off/on to reboot ur DTV converter box.Read ur owner manual,re enter ur tv codes,belong to ur tv.U tv should be up and running again.

You will need a converter box or a separate tuner. The TV has an NTSC (analog) tuner.

sounds like the motherboard of the converted is toast. The battery might be dead because the converter is no longer charging the battery. The lights might not work because they are 12v and the battery is dead. You can buy a motherboard replacement online and you should be back in business.

if It is similar to most RCA universal remotes, to get the code follow these steps(Manual code search MAy take awhile):
1:Manualy turn on the component that u want to control
2: press and hold the component key (ie SAT while holding SAT press ON-OFF key(button) for three seconds until all of the components light up and release the keys(button).
3: keep pressing ON-OFF key until your component turns off.(Note may take awhile)
4: one the correct code is found hit the STOP key and it will save your component IF YOU DO NOT HIT THE STOP KEY THE CORRECT CODE WILL NOT BE STORED.

If the clarification request is correct. The only thing i can suggest is. Plug aerial into converter box. plug converter box into TV using either scart or coaxial cable. then connect converter box to dvd recorder using scart or coaxial cable depending on what you used to plug converter box into TV with. Then plug dvd recorder into TV. I don't know if you have to set-up the converter box to start receiving i'm not sure. But try this anyway.
You'd probably have been better off getting a free-view box and your dvd recorder. Because as long as you've got a free-view box you'll always get digital. Hope this helps
