A Video card (aka a Graphics card) is a physical component in your computer that renders images and graphics, the higher quality graphics card you have the higher quality of games and images you can play/render.

so what this error means is the graphics card that your computer currently has installed doesn't support a model of shader (think shadows) which is needed to run Sims 3 properly

you can upgrade these cards, but it all depends on other components of your computer as to which would be most suitable for you

if you know anyone with knowledge of computers consult them as it would be free, or otherwise you'll have to have a consultation with a computer technician at your local computer store

hope this helps.

I install juiced 2 but they told me about SHADER 3 GRAPHICS CARD

All latest PC games requires shader model 3 graphics card. Actually juiced 2 is a high graphic oriented game requiring shader model 3. So, you must upgrade the video memory by adding a latest graphics card with shader model 3.Graphic card like,
Nvidia 6600 and higher has shader model 3.0 ATI x1xxx or higher has shader model 3.0 some X800 were also shader model 3.0.
Before you buy any new graphic card you need to discover which card your motherboard supports.
Good luck!!!

I installed FIFA 11 on my PC and when I run it it comes up with a box say 'E001'.

Fifa 11 Demo PC E0001 Error Issue
Fifa 11 E0001 error happened to a PC with this or a similar Specs: Pentium dual core, integrated Intel graphic card, 1GB of RAM, 128 of vid RAM, 2.0 pixel shaders.
Fifa 11 Demo PC E0001 Error Issue Fix:
1. Fifa 11 requires a shader model 3 or better card. That is error E0001 will be fixed and you can play this game again.
So if you get an error message as E0001 while playing Fifa 11 on Windows 7 or other systems, you should first set to the shader model 3 of your card.
2. This E0001 error issue may also be related to the graphic card that you are using. Check the drivers you are using for the video card. Update and reinstall it if necessary.
3. Get the latest driver pack for the same and then process out for the implementation. You can download the current new AMD catalyst 10.9 graphics card driver here. Or NVIDIA ForceWare 260.63 driver if you are using a Nvidia card.
4. Change the resolution to have a try. Some users get the E0001 error fixed for Fifa 11 by trying the 1280x1024 resolution on his computer.

Resident evil 5 benchmark unsupported pixel shader version 2.0

The game needs Pixel Shader 3 support, which is found on GeForce 6 series and up, and Radeon X1k series and up,

Sorry but a video card upgrade is a must to play this game.
If you're trying to run it on a laptop then you are probably out of luck as they're not upgradable.

I need to upgrade the video card for my Gateway 7330GZ laptop

Hey,

looked over the spesifications of your laptop, the video card thats build into the laptop doesn't have pixel shader 2 support and it can't be replaced since its build into the motherboard.

noting you can do about it, other than buy a newer laptop with a better video card, almost any ati or nvidia card will do, if your going to buy one you can check in with me and I'll make sure its got what it needs to run the game or you can ask the sales people to check on it before you purchase it.

Thanks,
Ekse

Pixel and Shader 3.0 Support

Pixel Shader 3 (PS 3), is just a technique used by video cards to render images to your screen.
In order to get a video card to support PS 3 you need to install DirectX 9c (the 'c' is very important, version 9 is not good enough).
Unfortunately your card only supports DX9 not DX9c and will therefore only play games that support Pixel Shader 2 or below.

Your only option in order to play the games you want, is to upgrade your Video card to one that supports DX9c or higher.
Geforce 6 & 7 series cards all support DX9c.
One other thing, if you are looking to upgrade check and see if your card is AGP or PCIe. I have a feeling that they only made the FX5200 in AGP but check it to make sure.
AGP cards are almost obsolete now, but Nvidia & ATI do still make a few and they can be found on large online PC retail outlets or perhaps try and pick up a good one on Ebay.

Hope this helps

Drivers upgrade

as far as I know, it's impossible to upgrade Graphic Card shader model 2 to 3. Buy a nVidia card (instead of ATI) because it has shader model 3. The cheapest one is below $50.
