My camera is saying green mode and the lens will not zoom out what is green mode

Zoom 1x to 3x sounds like the limits of optical zoom. The other zoom option may be digital zoom, which merely interpolates pixels to give the impression of a larger picture, and, as you reach the limit of the zoom, the picture quality may be so degraded that the image is unusable.

The Green mode locks out the user from the camera menu. To cancel the Green mode you must press the Green button again.hope this helps

I had the same problem. I took the battery out for 30 seconds and put it back in. I then turned it to the view mode, and turned the camera on. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you have been taking photos in both auto & manual modes, make sure your f-stop is set at the range it needs to be to allow enough light for the camera to take the photo. Since the lens and the camera communicate, if the lens is closed down & not allowing enough light the camera will not take the photo - does that make sense - Look at the metering in auto mode and see what the camera says the conditions are for a specific lighting condition check to see if the lens has a aperture position for Auto, usually a dot on the lens ring to align with a setting in red or green (likely a F-22) depending on the make of lens, that has been moved to some place in the middle and not returned while trying other manual settings so the shutter won't release because the camera is told by the lens there is not enough light or slow enough shutter to take this picture.

operate zoom before shooting in movei mode.

Have you tried taking out the batteries and leaving it alone for a bit, then loading new batteries? I would try this first before anything. Good Luck.

Check you haven't accidentally got the camera into some fixed-zoom mode ("Super-Macro" is a favourite for this on Olympus cameras).

have you tried to check the mode or settings? Digital zoom is different from manual or analog zoom, when we say digital zoom the camera expand the picture digitally, the zoom lens is not moving when it reach its maximum length but the picture keeps on zooming in.

Needs to go back to Panasonic- an inherent fault.
