the sat and cable boxes are like DIY items , just use a known set top box like dreambox e.t.c. ,i have a problem with my Logitech remote and pace HD sat receiver,evrey 2 -3 the sat receiver changes remote codes :) and its very annoing, but ill switch to a LED tv with integrated sat so for know acceptable i have a tip for you regarding receiver -change mylar and ceramic caps to film ones

If you are trying to get the remote programmed to the receiver you can remove the smartcard from the receiver and that will prompt the system info screen. This will allow you to program the remote to the receiver.

If you need the process for programming the remote, here it is:

1. Go to System Info screen (in this case -- obtain by removing smartcard from receiver)
2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4. Press the pound (#) button
5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.

When programming the timer, you select individual days or blocks of days.
For example program1 ON time
Set the Hour
Set the minutes
Press the day key to scroll through the possible choices.
Then you set program1 OFF time
Set the hour
Set the minute
And then press the day key to scroll through the possible choices.

The choices are:
Each individual day
Monday thru Friday
Sat-Sun
Monday thru Sat
Monday thru Sun
Monday-WED-FRI
Tues-Thurs-Sat
Mon-Wed
Thurs-Sat

The key is to set the ON and OFF times for the same days or blocks of days
For example program1 ON is 8:00 am Mon thru Friday
Set program1 OFF for 3:00 pm Mon thru Friday

and then program2 ON is 8:30am Sat-Sun
program2 OFF is 5:00pm Sat-Sun

Program 3 ON is 6:00pm Tues-Thurs-Sat
Program3 OFF is 9:00pm Tues-Thurs-Sat

Program4 ON is 6:00pm Sat
Program4 OFF is 11:00pm Sat

Programs5, 6 and 7 might not be needed

The key is to make a chart of times before setting timer.
The chart will prevent conflicts in programming where the timer does not operate as expected.

To program your URC-3021 remote control to operate your TV, the remote has a code search function.

To search for a code for your TV:

1. On the remote control, press TV once.
2. Press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1.The LED will blink twice.
4. Aim the remote control at the the TV and slowly alternate between pressing POWER and TV. Stop when the TV turns off.
5. To lock in the code, press and hold SET until the LED blinks twice, then release SET.

Repeat the process with the CBL/SAT button to program for your sat box.

VAIO sat survey is not an important program. Usually you will get it if the first time you turn on the computer and set it up. If you encounter that type of problem, you can uninstall it from the programs list of the system

1. start menu
2. control panel
3. programs and feature
4. look for vaio surevey and uninstall it
5. restart the computer

that should resovle the problem

Hi guys. I'm a Technical Support Agent for the Sony VAIO.
Please open the C: Drive > Programs x86 Folder > Sony > satsurvey or survey, then, delete the vaiosatsurvey.exe File from there. It should successfully resolve the issue. Hope it helps. I took remote sessions and resolbved many issues.

Hi, as stated on other post, VCR cannot be programmed storing sat channels in memory, you can get only a unique sat input channel on VCR.
You can only record from the channel that is currently been received on Sat, you can even use VCR timer, but you cannot store Sat channels into VCR.
all you do is connecting the sat box output to VCR, and VCR will see the SAT box as input, or line 1, or AV1, or external, or something similar, depending on the model.
You cannot program VCR on sat channel, you will need to leave sat box on the channel you want to record, it will be the same on a DVD RW.
