Hello everyone, last night my Acer Aspire 4520 worked fine. I didn't drop it and i take good care of it. Earlier this morning, I was playing CoD 4 using the battery. I pressed the POWER button by accident, and I configured it that when I were to press it, it would hibernate.
I resumed windows after it hibernated and continued playing. After 5 minutes, the laptop started hibernating, reason: low battery. I went to eat breakfast, and came back 20 mins later. I pressed the power button again but no lights flashed (it usually flashes indicating low battery charge). I plugged it in and turned it on. When I got into windows, it displayed 0% charging. I left it for about 30 mins and it's still the same.
I'm running windows vista home prem. btw, if that affects anything. Is it a problem with the battery? I'm still under warranty, so can Acer or the place where I bought it (the Computer Authority, Sm Megamall, Philippines) fix it?
Or should I just leave it charging for a while?.
Please help me, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you,
Arvee.
Since is shows it as charging then your power cable should be working. So it looks like a battery issue but batteries just don't die unless a cell inside dies then they will stop working. Try taking the battery off and making sure that the connections are clean then put it back in. If that doesn't work give the battery a good full charge then bring the battery and laptop back to where you bought it and get them to test the battery to see if a cell died.

Yeah, I thought of doing that on a weekend. I just did that, nothing's dirty. This laptop's only 8 months old. I turned my laptop off and let it charge, it's been 3 hours, and it still displays 0%. I'm just surprised, because my other laptop, eMachines, is 4 years old; and yet it's battery works great.
Replaced battery to no avail. Seems like a mainboard issue???
