No. I don't believe there are any that have the antenna built in, simply because the antenna must usually be placed high up and away from other electronics to be truly effetive. Also, you would need to change the direction of the antenna to achieve the best quality of picture. HDTV antenna can be acquired fairly cheap these days. All you need to do is make sure the tv has a (most likely coaxial) connection for an external antenna.

I just purchased an indoor antenna for to view local stations. Can i use an indoor antenna for my olevia 232-t11 lcd-hdtv? If I can, what steps do I need to follow?

Yes you can use an indoor antenna. Just make sure it is an HD antenna to get the digital channels clearly. You will have to do a scan to pick up local channels. In the TV menu, it will ask you if you want to scan for "cable" channels or "antenna" channels. You want to choose antenna.

you will have to use a VCR, DVD player that has a built in tuner, or an HD converter box. The HD converter box will have an antenna connection for the outside antenna. But will also have RCA outputs to connect your TV to the converter

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

I don't now how i recive tv chanels in hd

Your source has to be in HD like a local broadcast TV station currently broadcasting in HD which you get with a VHF/UHF antenna connected to the HDTV. Most primetime TV shows are in HD so using the antenna on the HDTV is all you need. Press MENU on your TV remote and make sure you have ANTENNA set instead of cable to get local TV stations.

You also could use your local cable TV provider. You would need digital cable service and a HD cable box with HDMI or component video cable hookup to the HDTV. HD channels are typically above 100. Call your cable TV provider for more details.

Read your user manual for the LG TV. Ask for help from family, friends, neighbors, local electronics shops.

Hello - Sure can, You do NOT need a converter box. The TV has digital tuners built in and all TV broadcasts are digital now.

You need to purchase and install an antenna based on how far you are from the actual broadcast towers and what kind of geography lies in between . Obviously I don't know where you live but for example; if you reside in a city where you are located within a few miles of the broadcast towers you could get by with an indoor rabbit ear antenna. Say you live in the suburbs of that city 10-20 miles away you could probably use a small attic or roof antenna. However, as in my case where I live approximately 35 miles away with some hills and buildings between me and the broadcast source I need to use a large roof antenna mounted on a tall mast.

The simplest way to find out what kind of antenna you need is to visit this LINK and use the "See Which TV Stations You Can Get on a Map" tool. This will give you a very good estimate of the antenna you need. Until then don't buy any more antennas.

When you get it setup right you will be very pleased. OTA (over the air) HD broadcasts are better in quaility than cable or satellite.

Enjoy and thanks for using Fix Ya

Can I use a regular antenna

Yes. You can use a regular antenna for any flat panel HD TV. You're only limitation the type of antenna and whether or not your flat panel TV has a built in digital tuner. If it does, you'll be able to scan for digital channels without any additional components, including the High Def ones,  though you may not get every channel available with a set of rabbit ears. A roof top antenna will give you a stronger signal and more channels. If your TV does NOT have a built in digital tuner, you'll have to purchase a digital converter box and attach your antenna to it to receive the digital and HD channels. Good luck.

Do we need to buy an antenna to get this TV ready for Digital TV?

LCD TV refers to the substance that creates the picture quality (it would be either LCD or Plasma or Tube) and HD refers to a crisp clear picture that can be attained. So your TV is an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV that is capable of receiving and displaying HD (High Definition) Picture.

What you need to check for is whether the TV has a built-in Tuner. This will either be SD (standard definition) TV Tuner or an HD TV Tuner. The box it came in will tell you or you may still have stickers on your TV.

If it has a built-in SD tuner you will be able to pick up HD channels but in a lower quality. In this case you will only need to plug the TV into a Wall-socket antenna or rabbit-ear antenna.

If it has a built-in HD Tuner you will be able to pick up HD Channels in full HD quaility picture. Simply by plugging the TV into a Wall-socket antenna or rabbit-ear antenna.

If your TV does NOT have a built-in TV-Tuner then this TV is clasified as "HD Ready". Which means that you have to purchase a Set Top Box (STB). you can get either HD or SD set top boxes. In this instance you will plug the cable from the wall socket into the STB then from the STB into the TV using either an HDMI cable (as long as your TV has an HDMI input) or through RCA cables which will be coloured Green, Blue and Red (i think red)

By the Way - best picture quality is from a wall-socket antenna.
HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface
STB = Set Top Box
High Definiton RCA cables will also be refered to as YPbPr/YCbCr (depending on equipment)
LCD = Liquid Crystal Display (the method used to make the picture on your TV screen)

If you have anymore questions, ask away.

Off Air?

The Scientific Atlanta box was a cable box and recieved CATV signals. The Direct TV box is satellite only. You might check if it has a built in ATSC tuner for off air digital signals. Direct TV in most locations offers the major networks in HD format.
