What device is it exactly. Ipods are different than other devices.
There is probably an option to delete music that you are listening to in the menu system of your device. But the easiest way to remove a lot of songs at once is to plug the device into your computer with the appropriate cord. Your computer will detect the connection (just like when you want to add songs) and it may present a screen of choices. Choose the folder icon, which will let you explore the device. Find the songs you want to delete, click them and hit delete.
That's a pretty generalized answer...to give specifics, I'd need to know your operating system (windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac, etc) and the make and model of your mp3 player.

How to get music onto an iPod without removing the previous music

Sometimes when adding music to your iPod through iTunes on a new computer or another computer, the program will attempt to synchronize the device with the music available on the computer. All songs on the iPod, but not in your iTunes library will be removed. This can cause problems for people who just want to add songs to your iPod without losing their old music. Fortunately, Apple allows users to manually add music to the device, avoiding the problems of synchronization.

1. Open iTunes.

2. Why can`t I downlow more music in my MP3 player?

Your storage device may be full. If you have removable storage media in your device, you may purchase another card and fill that with music, or simply remove music you dont' listen to any more to make room for new music.

How to put music

To copy music files onto your device:
 1. Connect your MP3 player to your computer using your USB cable. Switch your MP3 player to the MTP mode by pressing the power button located on the top of your player. When the USB symbol disappears your MP3 player is in the MTP mode.
 2. Opening your GPX audio player folder by clicking 'Start' on your computer.
 3. Click on 'Start'.
 4. Double Click on the 'GPX MTP Device' icon.
 5. Double Click on 'Removable Storage'. Minimize your 'Removable Storage' window.
 6. Open your 'My Music' folder by again clicking on 'Start' and then click on your 'My Music' folder. Choose an album or individual songs from this folder. With both your 'My Music' and 'GPX MTP Device Removable Storage' folder open. Drag an album or individual song from your 'My Music' folder into your 'Removable Storage' folder.

I would like to removed some music from my mp3

hi dear

Depending on how you connect that device, if you plug it through USB, then an icon should come up in "My Computer" as a removable disk, just go in that way and delete the files manually.

If your device comes with software, you could probably use the software to delete the music off of it that way.

Deleting

you may have to reformat the MP3 player by clicking on the drive its listed under and right click and go to Format. Formatting is done with FAT, not NTFS. This will remove any games or other data on it too. Sometimes the reset thing might work. In general, anything you erase from it using a computer should erase off the MP3 player too.
